Included in the new Germany U19 roster for friendly games vs Holland/England: http://www.dfb.de/index.php?id=500113&no_cache=1
I realized the German federation has launched a new site (again....), so here is the new link. They've also added his middle name "James". http://www.dfb.de/u-19-junioren/team-und-trainer/?no_cache=1
He played on the left wing in 4-2-3-1. he was involved in one shooting chance but didnt get to do much
[bungadiri moves the thread, then he strips, paints his nipples red, and runs around the house throwing confetti. bungadiri's wife observes this from the safety of her chair and mutters for the thousandth time that she doesn't get this whole BigSoccer thing.] Got it.
On a weekend when people are going overboard on Hyndman, Rubin and Thompson, an 18-year-old debuts in the Bundesliga and apparently it barely rates a mention. Are we allowed to get excited about this?
Not to be a downer, but Devante might be buried on the bench (or back to the reserves) for the time being - Mainz has a boatload of reinforcements arriving (Jonas Hoffmann, Sami Allagui, Jairo Samperio, and Pablo de Blasis). Still, a nice milestone.
Can't say I'm on board with that. The DFB has been such a great feeder association for the USMNT The DFB website has even kindly informed us that Devante is in possession of a US passport.
The younger Parker may be better than his older brother, so I think Germany is going to keep a close tab on him.
Parker replaced Timo Werner after 63 minutes in Germany's 3:2 win vs Holland. http://www.dfb.de/u-19-junioren/spiele-termine/spielplan/?spieledb_path=/matches/2215043 Those 4 stars look good
I'd like to send my very best wishes to them for Mr. Fabian Johnson. I truly believe he'd crack there 23. He's THAT good.
Perhaps, but this German U19 squad is extremely talented. Have you seen Werner's market value? And Avdijaj has a 50 million euro buy-out clause without playing a single first team minute.
Devante Parker, midfielder/winger (Mainz 05) Nationality: German-American Status: Germany youth international, played for Germany's U-19's in September; would have to file a one-time switch to play for the US. What's his game? The 18-year-old recently made his Bundesliga debut having played just six matches for the reserve side. Parker mostly makes his money from clever runs behind the defense, quickly changing speeds on the ball and a pretty good blast from distance. He typically plays on his natural flank as a right winger, but has also enjoyed a bit of success on the left. Is Jurgen recruiting him? Yes, but only gently so far. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ng-out-dual-nationals-usmnt-ahead-russia-2018
I hope its not like the DeGuzmans, where the North American national team gets the bad one of two brothers.
Relax, you'll more than likely get both. Especially Shawn Parker I'm expecting to switch soon, considering the way his club career has failed to take off. He's not even being called up to the German U21's anymore.
It was a joke. Personally, I don't get excited by poaching people who fail with another country, even Germany. It hardly seems a viable long-term strategy for anything other than mediocrity, though it has been quite useful in the short-term.
