And people stating that it is because people don't like change are full of it. I have been wanting a new logo for a long time. I even started a thread a couple weeks ago talking about how bad the boot/ball logo is and how the league needed a new one. I had no idea this was in the works. So I wanted change badly. This is awful though.
Soccer announcements work on European tardiness standards. They're probably just having a breakfast consisting of no meats and some weird cheese and fruit you've never had.
That is a logo I can get behind. Has the vibe of the pre-2008 NFL logo which doesn't hurt or ad anything; just wanted to point it out. I know you've said before your against having a soccer ball in there but would be interesting if you put, say a navy and white one, underneath the MLS letters to see how it would look.
I will say there are a TON of mls haters that follow ESPNFC. And if you're a eurosnob I don't think you should be allowed to comment on a league you say don't care about. And also on that not f@$k eurosnobs.
Yeah you are right a neutral article about the new logo with a poll will tell us nothing. Funny thing is it is the same marketing type that came up with this logo that put out these "random internet polls". It isn't like the poll was posted to sesamestreet.com
You know your logo is bad when you can't decide which is worse, the logo itself or the explanation of the elements. Maybe they should just have MLS in letters like the B1G have on their uniforms if the old logo was that bad.
The slash going from right to left, and coming out the end looks like a sword. In heraldry, it means illegitimacy or cowardice on the battlefield. I'm pretty sure I'm a huge dork for noticing this, but...
The more I see it the more I like it. I like minimalist design and think it looks sharp and clean on apparel. The old logo felt generic and stuck out for the wrong reasons. This reminds me a lot of when clubs re do crests. At first everyone seemed to hate them, like Los Angeles, then a few years down the road it was accepted and now be surprised many people want to go back to old look. Feel similarly about San Jose and Kansas City who went through similar changes. On another example was when MLS Cup changed. I hated the old trophies and was relieved to see a nice looking one in 2008. At the time then people moaned about it, but now it feel part of our league and this logo has that feeling too of something that will last a long time.
It reminds me of when websites I enjoy go minimalist, even on their non-mobile site, in order to appease avid mobile users and people who get flustered by options and features.
whatever floats your boat= what ever you meets your fancy= whatever you like=whatever makes you happy.
So not only will the previous MLS logo patch be replaced on the right sleeve of the jersey, but so will the U.S./Canadian flag patch on the left sleeve? -G
I see if going left to right and ascending. Of course that is probably because we read left to right.

Another way to improve/better differentiate among the teams could have been the use of Horizontal/Vertical stripes, wherever applicable/appropriate. E.g. N.E. Revs: VS
