That would be Anderlecht then :-D But then also Anderlecht players are taken away to play in bigger championships, so it's kinda fair I guess Anderlecht has, maybe surprisingly, a small stadium with only about 25000 people max. Plans are to extend to... 30.000 by 2012 or something. Tickets, it depends. The cheapest tickets for the whole season (that is, the package of all 28 matches) are at 165€, so it's about 12€ a match. But that is in the standing area with the ultras and the rushes when we score etc But it can go easily to 60-70€ a match for the Europa League or something, in the best non-vip seats. I paid 26€ for the game Anderlecht-Hamburg in the standing section, that was the cheapest available. For other clubs, I don't know. Other Stadiums are, for Bruges something like 30 000 seats, same for Standard or maybe a bit less. Both stadiums will also be extended in the coming years. All 3 teams I believe fill their stadiums at home matches for the championship, it's however not always full for the belgian cup or even for some european matches. But not all belgian teams fill their stadiums, far from that...
Greetings, I am planning on taking a trip to Brussels in the early June I was wondering is it less expensive to take the euro speed train from Frankfurt station to Brussels or is their a ferry boat that goes from London to Belgium then I can take a train or bus into Brussels? I know I can fly direct to Brussels but I want to visit either London or Frankfurt first before I head to Brussels? Give me a price if you can and opinions if you know a better way please?
We draw crowds in the 26-28.5K range. Depending on the opponent. An average ticket will put you back around 25 euros.
Thanks for the information on Anderlecht, I hope to attend a match in September 2010. I don't care if it is an early CL match or a league match.
SMH @ Standard (although I expected as much against Zenit) ... Belgian clubs still the butt of a cruel joke in Europe ... did Standard care about the UEL last year? ... this year they don't even seem equipped to care about it. Hoping that Club and Lokeren advance ... our coefficient can use a break (next year the poor performance of 2010/11 expires ... no need to replace it though).
Genk ... reportedly they know McLeish well (he also was involved in the Benteke move) but didn't think they could get him (hard times at Genk ... looking to turn the corner) ... like McLaren, McLeish might try to breathe new life into his career.
Thanks. I always get those two clubs confused. Did something else happen with the fans protesting or something like that?
They were at it last season and that didn't change in the current one ... if Genk starts winning, their fans will be happy again ... I'm confident that they'll get back on their feet.
Merci/Danku wel - good info. Winning does that for any fan base. Seems like the league is on an upswing, the hot place for developing talents right now.
Anderlecht needs an upset to avoid dropping a pot during the draw ... either Copenhagen beats Leverkusen or Besiktas "robs" Arsenal from UCL football ... let's see if one of them can deliver.
Group D ... ouch Arsenal Dortmund Galatasaray Anderlecht Was hoping for Ajax as the pot 3 opponent (seeing that Anderlecht dropped to pot 4) ... hard group for Ajax too.
Still posting, but just less. A lot less. Plus facebook and twitter provide so much info now, I usually just follow along there.
Michel D'Hooghe ... prepare to get proper probed ... FIFA are losing sponsors and need a couple of fall guys asap. Fifa corruption: Franz Beckenbauer and three executive committee members face probe D'Hooghe over beschuldigingen: "Heb mezelf niets te verwijten"
