Mateo Pavlovic is sent another year on loan to Ferencvaros Budapest. Last season the 24 years old defender played already on loan for the Hungarian club and in 9 matches one goal.
I can not even rate him. He made only 4 BL matches for Werder. Sebastian Proedl and Zlatko Junuzovic haven't signed the new contract extension offers Eichin gave them last month. I would be happy, if they stay. Especially Zlatko Junuzovic showes good fighting spirit and was in the last seasons one of my favorite players in the team. Prödl talked towards the end of last season about a possible departure and wants to decide based on Werders transfer policy this summer. Well, he should not what is best for him.
Junuzovic is a good player, he can cover different positions and contributes with whatever role he's assigned to play. It's difficult to find a replacement for someone of that quality. Prödl was important too last season, but Eichin has done well bringing in Galvez as depth and possible replacement.
Another defensive addition?? Tm listing Brazilian Claudio Winck as a possible target. He can play central defense and right fullback. Eichin likely keeping options open if Prödl or Lukimya leave.
Joseph Akpala should be leaving this summer. He's been training individually to regain his fitness after that injury. Schröder is also busy looking for potential buyers. He didn't work out for us, but he's keeping a positive attitude through all this. Hope he's able to find a new club and resume his career.
Really unfortunate to see him go thru that injury. Akpala was also starting off a good season in the Turkish League when he was on loan. Was also a big year for him with Nigeria in WC and possibly fight for a roster spot there. This summer he's worked really hard to get back. It shows good dedication. I believe there was interest again from Turkey in signing him, or possibly in other leagues. Wish him luck wherever he goes.
http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/werder-bremen/an-juve-nachwuchs-interessiert-36999426.bild.html Eichin interview saying if Werder is to have a Juventus player on loan from their partnership, it would only happen near the end of transfer window. Likely in the final few days. Reading online that Sebastian Giovinco has been mentioned. Not seeing much truth in that rumor and I'm not sure how he would fit into our team either. Perhaps one of their younger guys instead.
Union Berlin showing interest to loaning Kobylanski for the year. 2 Liga is a good step for him to take this season.
I also think so. Kobylanski has a good technic and prove himself in the RL North very well last season. He seems ready for the next step, either getting more BL minutes with the pros or getting 2. BL experience on a loan.
Eichin confirms that negotiations with Karabükspor are underway for sale of Akpala. Same club he spent last season on loan where Akpala left a good impression. Right timing for transfer as he returns from injury, and Karabükspor also recently qualified in playoffs fro Europa League.
There's also interest from Trabzonspor for Mehmet Ekici. Another player Eichin has been actively working on finding a buyer for. Would be great news if both sales work out, especially clearing space in the salary budget.
Akpala on his way to Istanbul to complete his medical check with Karabükspor. We're close to reaching agreement with Trabzonspor for Ekici and may possibly announce the move this week. Werder looking to receive 1 million for each player.
Joseph Akpalas move to Karabükspor is final. I wish him an injury-free time and good luck at his new time. http://www.werder.de/de/profis/news/50770.php No news on Ekici though.
Kicker reports (original source: Honduranian newspaper „Diario Diez) that besides Ajax Amsterdam we are interested in Costa Rican striker Bryan Ruiz (FC Fulham). And the kicker article also reports of an interest in Per Skjelbred from HSV. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...der-ist-an-bryan-ruiz-und-skjelbred-dran.html Well, seing Ruiz in green-white would be a dream. But the only chance to finance B. Ruiz (salary (maybe possible if after Akpala also Ekici leaves) AND transfer fee) is if Werder finally found the rims of Allofs Passat (background: A sad joke told by Werder fans is that former general manager Allofs invested all the money from the Diego, Özil, Mertesacker, ... transfers into golden rims for his car because the money dissapeared). The Skjelbred rumor sounds financially more realistic. HSV demanded 2.5 million € from Hertha (where he played on loan), but Hertha only wanted to spend 750 k €, so it could be true that Werder joined the transfer poker.
LOL Allofs being Allofs with his latest joke of a signing for Wolfsburg: http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/2dk04w/nicklas_bendtner_leaves_arsenal_signs_new/ Ekici to Trabzonspor negotiations are also progressing well. According to Kreiszeitung he could be announced as early as tomorrow Friday by his potential new club. Article also mentions that Besiktas has made an offer for Bryan Ruiz but the player prefers Werder. https://www.kreiszeitung.de/werder-bremen/werder-bremen-bryan-ruiz-will-werder-3780367.html
Ekici to Trabzonspor is official, Werder receives 1.5 million from this transfer sale. Great job by Eichin completing these deals and making space in the budget this summer.
Nothing official yet, the medical will be tomorrow. I wish Mehmet that he can get back to old strength at Trabzon, best of luck. Some days ago there were rumors that connected us with Bryan Ruiz (Fulham) and Skeljbred (HSV). The transfer of Akpala and now Ekici (waiting for the confirmation tomorow) improve our chances to land one of them.
Ekici's medical is complete and is now officially joins Trabzonspor. 1.5 mio transfer fee is also confirmed that we get. Definitely another great move by Eichin.
Reading more rumors on TM and various sources that the move for Bryan Ruiz is getting closer. While, Fiorentina's Rafal Wolski has been mentioned as a possible alternative. Several Bundesliga clubs interested in the attacking midfielder.
Bolivian prospect Alex Pontons Paz invited on trial at Werder and is training with the U23 team. The 19 y/o forward was previously part of AC Milan's youth system. More news on Wolski. Italian source, Corriere Dello Sport saying he's preparing to leave Fiorentina. Negotiations between clubs is running and transfer seems likely. http://www.corrieredellosport.it/calcio/calcio_mercato/2014/08/19-373354/Calciomercato Fiorentina, Wolski addio. In pole c'è il Werder
Does he have European forebears? Reason of my question is, the DFB does not allow non-European players to play for U23 sides. If not, Werder has to loan him to another side. I am not a friend of such a strategy, with Jhon Jairo Mosquera permanently on loan it was a major fail.
I don't think he has any European links. His Transfermarkt page only says he is of Bolivian nationality. That's a good point. It's difficult to properly integrate a player when constantly sent on loan.
http://www.werder.de/de/u23/news/50864.php Werder has signed Onur Capin from Hannover to reinforce the reserve team, with a 2 year contract. Another player who's here on trial and a guest player in Tuesday's test match. Scored all 3 goals for Werder U23 against the Emirates Cultural & Sports Club from Dubai. He also has experience training with the pro team in Hannover.
