Thank you Miro! Top goal scorer for Germany, top WC scorer, what a legend! And it all started with SG Blaubach-Diedelkopf...
Thank you Miroslav. You will be missed, and your legacy will be legendary, right there among the giants of German football. I wish you all the best this season and in the non-footballing life ahead.
Klose in 2006 >>>>> Van Nistelrooy, Cantona, Batistuta, Weah, Klinsmann, Shearer, Ibrahimovic, Bergkamp and Van Basten, even in their prime. Klose is the most allrounded, can pass, score, dribble and always an aerial threat despite his size. Very agile and intelligent player His professionalism seperates him and Ronaldo as well
Not to forget his modesty and down-to-earthness. Everywhere he played hes just scored his goals. I dont think there's a club where he left in dispute.
Weren't Bayern fans always ragging on him though? They felt that he didn't play his best for Bayern but always showed u for the NT, especially for losing weight for South Africa.
Not that I remember. Dont confuse some fans' bitching with the club. And at least from Klose's side there never really was bad blood. Rarely playing ahead of the '10 WC he e.g. never complained through the press. there were players who did exactly that and still will never be the same league Klose is.
First impressions of him was a guy that only knew about heading and bit of a flat-track bully. Admittedly that was back in 2002 but its a shame that most people still have this same old impression. Has to be the most underrated player in the past decade, to the extent that I think even some people here thought he was too old and can't hack it. I never doubted him since the form he showed in Bremen. Monstrous and completely changed my perception of him: 2005-07 Klose was one of the most complete strikers I have had pleasure of seeing in my 11 years of watching football. Good thing he also reserved this standard for the German NT - and I think he was on the way to capturing the same form at club level until some injury rested him out in 2008-09 Bayern season. Quickly became a favourite of mine, not to mention (tgt with Frings) a very important catalyst to me supporting Bremen and the German NT. There are too many compliments that can be rolled out for Klose. Very very happy that he ended such a great service and truly cemented his legend status beyond Germany with a WC medal and historic record. Easily a favourite player of mine and will remain so! Danke!
Fantastic player, sad but inevitable that his playing career is ending, but to be able to retire as the top WC and NT goalscorer and most importantly as a World Champion is brilliant and fully deserved. Legend. Danke Miro.
Coach Klose. http://www.dfb.de/en/news/detail/miroslav-klose-to-complete-coaching-programme-with-dfb-156944/
Yes a fantastic player, but what impresses me about him was that in 2002 he was just known for his headers. And being the kind of person he is he worked on other aspects of his game until he was a complete striker. Most players with talent just rely on their talent but the ability to understand what you are lacking and working on your game to improve it leads me to believe he will be good coach. Hopefully he can train the next generation of strikers that we need so badly in the NT.
Miro is one of my all-time favourites, and to think he started his NT career during the dark ages. I remember when he alongside Ballack and Kahn dragged possibly the worst Germany ever all the way to the World Cup Final in 2002, and he was ever present from those days going through German football's renaisssance all the way to the World Cup Victory of 2014, and many questioned his many inclusions in the NT ahead of tournaments because of his club form but he always excelled when wearing the NT shirt. I wept tears of joy when I finally saw him on TV lifting the World Cup.
