Mind you, these are not what I would call fans of the club. I think a lot of the friction between the fan base has died down with Mourinho leaving, and whatever is left is in the media.

I don't agree with everything Arbeloa says or does, but in the end, I have nothing but respect for him (and Xabi) because they're not afraid to speak their mind. And you have to have these kinds of players in your dressing room to keep everyone in check.

Why wouldn't you quantify them as being fans of the club? They surely are fans of Iker Casillas and as we all know he has a section of fans/reporters/whatever which this kind behavior isn't so foreign with.

I agree about friction dying down. At that time it was incredibly tense/high. The friction on BS that guy caused destroyed a few "friendships" on here.

Yeah, I don't want those guys playing much, however I love their personalities. They speak their mind clearly and don't let the multitude or popular opinion distort their views.

I loved how Xabi pointed out the difference from Zidane/Raul/Ronaldo time at the club and now.

I must admit I did chuckle a bit at this. Doesn't really say much, but it was still kinda funny. :p

Casillas is six years older, though.

I mean it seems like a pretty simple exercise, but damn...the comparison is like night and day. LOL!

Fake video!! Its edited or photoshopped or something. How do I know? There is no way a video of Keylor Navas does not include some images of his wife.

It really is very telling. You cam compare their training performances in that video to the kind of form both keepers are in right now.

Also, what kind of an example is he setting to the rest of the keepers? Absolutely ridiculous. That's why I respect Cristiano so much more, he sets an example to the entire team of what a professional should be acting like.

    The entire thing:

    1) It is a 7 second video. There are multiple clips from yesterday's practice with all 3 of our GKs working full speed, 100%. Concluding that Iker or anyone is setting a poor example off a 7 second video is insane.

    2) They aren't even doing the same drill. Note in the Navas clip a hand coming in from the right that is directing him to go fast. When Iker is there you can see Vecchi holding him up and talking to him.

It was 7 seconds in a practice, of which there are plenty of larger clips with all GKs working hard. You know nothing about the context, or really anything. If you look at that clip, and draw conclusions on our GKs based on it, then you have mentally lost it and allowed your Iker hate to permeate your brain.

You said it here. Imagine spending 14 years of your career playing at the highest level world cups, CL, and so on. You will be exhausted and drained - that is Iker now. Navas on the other is a brand new machine which is well oiled and ready to kill it on the big stage.

We've heard over the years from MULTIPLE credible sources that Iker does not train hard. We know that to be true. Hell he isn't even in good shape, I'm in better shape than he is. So when I see a video like this, it confirms what we've been "quietly" hearing about Iker's work ethic at practice.

Is it an over reaction to an out of context 7-second video? Yes. But look at the f*ckin effort he's putting in, it's pathetic. This is supposed to be our captain & leader?

I stand by everything I said. If you wanna go through the worm hole of connecting dots that don't exist, go ahead. But it is not a discussion with any merit.

Here is 4 minutes of our GKs practicing yesterday....all putting in the same effort. It's not as definitive as 7 seconds of 2 different drills spliced together, but still it looks to me like they are all trying pretty much exactly the same.

Coaches & former players if my memory serves me correct? Does that count? Or are they making it up to adhere to Mou's agenda?

(I absolutely can't stand Jose Mourinho for the record)

Who? I'd love to know. I've been on this board for 10 years, and this is the first I've heard of this.

Well I stand by my words, I'm not going to get into a 5 day debate over this. As a captain & leader on the team you should be setting an example. I'll leave it at that.

Former Milan and Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi has said goalkeeper Íker Casillas does not train well. Sacchi, who also was Real Madrid’s director of soccer from 2004 to 2005, made the declaration at the Mediaset studios in Spain affirming that the reason Casillas has not reached his best form is because he doesn’t prepare properly.

"Iker Casillas has always trained poorly. Mourinho is right to leave him out," said the Italian coach about the Spanish goalkeeper. "It's normal that Diego Lopez plays, because he offers the image of being a really safe player," he added.

    ----------------------

Why would he say that unless it wasn't true? Does Iker look to be in great shape compared to Diego?

Sacchi went on to clarify his comments. I hope there is more to your claims, because surely you have to have a lot of proof to question any player's professionalism, let alone one of the best keepers to ever play.
