I think he signed a two year deal last year. So I'm assuming he's still there

I am starting to think that his ambitions want him to keep going like Mondragon did.

I'd love for him to play a year or two more. After watching him at the World Cup don't know why he hasn't gotten any rumors about him. I would think his transfer fee would be small. I'd love to see him play in Spain or England before he retired. Especially England it'd be easy to watch him play on TV where I live if he played EPL. Liverpool have a shitty back line. He might not be able to play 38 matches but he could def suit up to play the big ones vs Chelsea Man U and City and play European Football

But I hope he gets to be an assistant under Pekerman and named the U17 or an assistant an assistant under both Pekerman and the u20 coach so he could start coaching the u20s or u17 before he would start at the NT

Our u20 coach needs to be good I want the Olympics!!!

Mend fences bring Rueda to the u20 And assistant under Pekerman. When he retires he gets the job

No I don't like how Rueda's teams play he hasn't won anything either to justify his ultra defensive ultra one dimensional style.

Pekerman up until the Brasil game built a Team. Guys had roles but they learned to read each other's play and read the game. They were smart with the ball and creative and willing to attack and dictate the game. Rueda's team just sat back the whole time hoping not to get scored 5 goals on. I don't like his style. Borghi, Bielsa, Simeone, Bianchi, Falcioni even prefer Osorio style over Rueda's.

I'd like to see Yepes stay on like how Mondragon stayed on. I'd like to see him as a player coach and towards the end an assistant coach. And if not a u 20 coach than U 15 and U 17 and maybe he can coach a stacked Colombian club and maybe be the next assistant coach for the NT after that. Then he could be the NT coach. They rushed Lionel Alvarez. But I still think Yepes can play a year or two for a huge European club than he can play in MLS and make some DP money on a crappie team or ask for less than DP money and be on a stacked team for a season or half a season. Then go to Colombia for a shirt tournament/swan song.

I'd wish his agent would push him on Louis Van Gaal. I think Van Gaal has shaped soccer. His Barca and Bayern teams brought about many imitators for a reason. Van Gaal is a great coach and I'm show Yepes will try to learn from him.

No more Yepes as a player on the Nt. We need a generational change in defense!!!!

Lets be realistic here. The guy will be 39 in january. Why would any MLS team devote a DP spot on a 39 yr old defender? I don't see that at all. Also, reading his Wiki, he's got 3 young kids. You just don't uproot your family that easily. I wouldn't be surprised if he follows thru with an assistant coaching job in Serie A and continue to take coaching courses so that in years to come he can then transition to a team in Colombia.

I think Yepes will coach in Europe or be a assistant to Pekerman. I agree I don't see him moving his family to play 1 season then move again.

MLS offers money and some teams suck. I don't see it happening would prefer to see him go to Man U or Liverpool only cuz I'd get to see him play more easily. Imo he still has a year or two left starting 20 matches a season. He can easily go anywhere but he won't cuz it takes a great agent.

He may retire and probably will. I hope not cuz I love to see him play. I didn't live I Colombia so I didn't see Escobar play but other than Ivan Cordoba best Colombian defender! Maybe he can go to Colombia and be an assistant coach for the club. Maybe he can be an assistant of Pekerman.

    That would be a dream.

If I could dream and pick. I'd like him to play sparingly and transition to Assistant coach with Pekerman and then with Osorio. Osorio has creative tactics and Pekerman is great. Then I'd like to see him start coaching the young U 17 U 15 guys and then get a head coach gig of a very good club team and then be an assistant to the NT DT and be the DT of the u 20

I am pretty sure that they won't give him an issue if he keeps the tradition of going to the MLS like a lot of Colombians. Yepes is old but needs a competitive league.

WOW! Speachless! one of the greatest athletes I've ever saw. I admit that at first I was afraid that a guy in his age will be the responsible for our defense, but he proved me wrong. During the whole process he was one of our best players and the best CB in the squad. Played in the WC like a 25-year4-old defender with an experience of a 38-year-old defender. Thank you Mario, for everything!
