I'm not leading to an answer, but if you believe these young players are better, then you also believe they'll do better in the future.. that's exactly what the thread is about. Saying, they won so they are better, but I don't believe they'll win again in the future, contradicts the whole argument of they are better. If they are better, they'll have a better chance to win no?
Some of the mexicans you put up there are meh, bueno is average fro example. Players like Tecatito Corona, Gullit Pena, Isaac Brizuela, Hector Herrera, Carlos Fierro, and Jorge Espericueta to name a few are superior to most of those
Spain most likely. You just don't hear about them very much because they have plenty of top senior players.
Explain further, because that's the easiest stance to take. They won the tournament so now they are the best, but in the future we don't know because they haven't played a tournament. I mean really? you have no opinion other than waiting for something to happen and then point out to us that it happened?
The explanation is rather straight forward: the fact that a player or group of players is the best of their age-group at a certain moment in time, does not mean they will stay the best of their, perhaps late-developing, peers in the future.
Once again you're missing the point of me saying you're taking the easy stand and not really having an opinion or adding value to the discussion if all you can come up with is: They won, so currently at this point in time they are the best. And the team that wins on the future will be the best on the future. We're not asking, which country has the best collection of young winners in the world. Then your response would be correct.
Both Bakkali and Januzaj have chosen Belgium ... Michy could be the next one that joins (to replace Benteke).
Hmm, that's a very interesting question and difficult to say, because there are a lot of players from different countries which play very well, but I think Belgium is in front anyway. I have also made an article and listed best 5 young soccer players and you can check it.
Belgium has a great talented squad now, but I wouldn't put Januzaj in that list. Yes, he had a breakout season at ManU, but Sterling, who's just 2 months older, did much more at Liverpool this season for example.
England has the best, they will win WCs and Euros starting in 2018 noone can match their skill, technique, and vision.
I have voted for Other. Protest vote! Holland should always be on the list. Maybe we don't have the super talents we had 10 years ago like Robben, Sneijder, RVP and VDV but we still have some promising talents. If we only talk about Dutch youngsters who made their debut for the Dutch NT already, were pre-selected for the World Cup and actually go to the World Cup and a few who could make it someday. Young talents who go to the World Cup. Stefan de Vrij (22) Bruno Martins Indi (22) Joël Veltman (20) Terence Kongolo (20) Jordy Clasie (22) Memphis Depay (20) Young talents who were pre-selected for the World Cup. Karim Rekik (19) Tonny Vilhena (19) Jean-Paul Boëtius (20) Quincy Promes (22) Young talents who already made their debut for the Dutch NT. Jeffrey Bruma (22) Jetro Willems (20) Ricardo van Rhijn (22) Marco van Ginkel (21) Davy Klaassen (21) Adam Maher (20) Young talents who didn't made ther debut yet but are worth a mention. Virgil van Dijk (22) Davy Pröpper (22) Hakim Ziyech (21) Ola John (22) Richaro Zivkovic (17) Of course half of the list probably won't reach world class level but who knows what will happen.
Yeah, you are right, cause Sterling is really a great player, but I think also Januzaj will develope in a fantastic player, don't you think?
Germany.. Our u19 won the Euros without too much trouble despite missing most of their best players. If you look at Germany's 95 and after born talents, it's just ridiculous how stacked we are.
I don't want to take anything away from Germany's youngsters, but it's not like you can draw much from a single youth tournament. I mean, sure, they won it, but given the context of other recent youth tourneys, a different image emerges. Latest editions: u-21 euro: out at the group stage u-19 euro: gold u-17 euro: out at the group stage u-20 world cup: not qualified u-17 world cup: not qualified
Yeah, overall we have a exceptional tendency to underperform at youth tournaments, partially because at the U-21, U-20, and U-19 level, a lot of players are left out because they're either in the senior team (Draxler, Gündoğan, being examples at the last U-21 Euro) or are held back by their clubs (Werner, Meyer, Tah, Goretzka, etc. were not released by their clubs for the recent U-19 Euro) but I believe if you look at the talent Germany are producing, it's pretty good overall, up there certainly. Also, if we're looking at chances the young talent have of fulfilling their potential (important considering how little a lot of exceptional youth players have done in their careers), there's very few better spots to develop than a Bundesliga club, who will often promote talent very rapidly, regularly breaking their records of youngest players to make senior debuts. Brandt, Tah, Meyer, Goretzka, are all very young German standout players playing at high levels and starting on a regular basis that were all promoted in this season alone. That's a pretty good record.
Spain is the only European country that sends its best players to youth competitions. England, France, Italy and Germany always send second tier players.
None of them with the best German talents. 95 and after born talent is crazy for Germany. So crazy that our B team won the Euros with relative ease. You'll see in a few seasons just how strong the 95 and after born talents are in Germany. I'm also pretty sure Germany would've won the u21 euros with the likes of Kroos, Gundogan, Gotze, etc. I don't think that's too far fetched.
The simple results posting doesn't mean anything without the context of Germany not having close to their strongest possible squads available. For this u19 tournament our clubs also didn't let Timo Werner, Max Meyer, Leon Goretzka, Niklas Suele, Jonathan Tah, Serge Gnabry, etc. participate. Our B team dominated Spain 3-1 in their own backyard to eliminate them and qualify for the tournament.
