Update: Messi broke the Barcelona all-time goal scoring record in style with a hat trick in his team's 5-3 victory over Granada. Analysis: His three strikes brought his season tally up to 54 goals in 45 games and in which he has produced absolute classic goals. His teammates were full of acclaim with Pique and Valdes describing him as "the best ever". 21 Mar 2012 05:49 AM
Teams sell good Players for different reasons, and seldom do fans know the real truth. It can be a number of reasons from what they think he is worth to attitude to the feel someone for less Money can replace him to ownership/a coach not getting along with him.
Guys, you know Messi never ever wanted to go somewhere else.. He said it himself that he only gonna move if the club doesn't need him anymore, or it's time to go back di Argentina to enjoy his "old days"..And i think now Barcelona need Messi more than ever, because of the ban and everything. So, i don't think that he gonna move somewhere at this time, at least until he reach 30's.
Messi will finish his career somewhere else. This next season is his last for Barca. Mark my words. I just have a funny feeling.
Maybe he'll finish his career in Newell's in Argentina just like Maradona finished his at Boca Juniors but I highly doubt next season will be his last at Barca. He's still hitting his prime right now. Why would he leave and where? Chelsea or Man City? Please.
Manchester United. His and the club's temperament last season and in the beginning of this one just when things were not going so well just showed me how easily the connection can be broken. I really seemed he was on the way out at one point. If this board survives the elections I can see him leaving and Barca buying someone like Aguero to partner Suarez, Pogba and adder additions. As I said just a feeling.
The whole supposed falling out was overstated and it never seemed he was leaving. He never publicly stated he was sad or angry like CRonaldo did last year. And Manchester United couldn't afford Messi even if they wanted and they certainly can't pay his buyout clause. Also why would he want to go there? They've been a mess for the past couple of years.
They certainly could considering the money they spent until now and are still to spend this summer. Do you seriously think Barca will accept nothing less than the buy out clause? The old one (150m) would probably be sufficient for 28 year old Messi. And who knows where Pep will be then ... Messi looked quite dejected the whole of last season and in the later stages of the world cup. I don't know if it was that mysterious injury/illness or what but he was at points down right detrimental to the team. He was for me in a sellable form. At the time I was posting somewhere else how I'd sell him for 150m and buy Suarez, Aguero and Vidal with the money. This season of course he has been rejuvenated and reached the best form of his career doing virtually everything in the attacking side of the pitch. I will not forget though how frustrated I was with him not long ago. The medical staff should know best what is his true condition and how long he has on the highest level. I just don't want Barca to miss the chance for the big money like when Chelsea was reported to have bid 100m (extraordinary at the time) for Ronaldinho. Barca rejected it and the very next season Ronnie was done and they sold him for 25m.
Real paid 100euros for Gareth Bale, you think Barca is going to sell arguably their best player in history for 150???? A club would have to pay over 200 and thats not including the amount of marketing they'll get. Messi is a million more times more marketable than Bale. Not to mention fans would start a riot. The only way Messi leaves is if he forces a tranfer which I could never see him doing to Barca or when he gets older and wants to end his career in Argentina.
Ok. I'll agree that 200m seems more plausible price even though he's getting older now.. But the fans starting a riot ... Really? I personally have not sensed that Maradona kind of fanatical support for Messi. Maybe if he went to Madrid ... Again I want to stress my statements are based on a gut feeling rather than logic. It's just something to brag about in the future if it turns to be true
It's a figure of speech but have you been to Barcelona? Messi despite not being from there has lived there for amlong time and the city has adopted him. He's broken so many records and given the club so much if the club were to sell him Manchester United there would certainly be a ton of unrest amongst the fans.
Are you sure? I've read their family denied. I know amazing people with Aspergers but about twice as more that are just focused and reserved which people would think they have it but don't. The ones with Aspergers you notice at some point if you hang around long enough (rocking back and forth or other signs of autism). It's possible but I doubt he has, diagnosed with it is much more believable as psychology was charlatanism just a while back.
He's a shy poor kid who has managed to rise to huge levels where he's making a ton of money. If he had Aspergers he wouldn't be so accepting to appear in commercials or even travel as a un ambassador to the UN meeting tons of different people.
