Me neither, as long as it doesn't kill confidence, I'll take the money though. Just 1 game, pay up your bucks, see ya later suckers.
Bruce's mistake today was using the same tired lineup at the beginning. He should have started with, -------------Keane------------ --- Landon --------------------- Zardes ------ ------------------ Mendiola ---------------------- --------------Walker-----Sarvas--------------- ---AJD ----- Opare ----- Meyer ------ Sorto ------
I didn't see Meyer, but Opare wasn't terrible until the end. The two of them are most concerning to me - they need confidence, not to dwell on this game. Bruce needs to take them aside and basically say, "forget it. doesn't matter, took their money, focus on Monday."
Meyer was actually fine for most of the match he just made a completely bone headed play on Rooney’s second. Of course earlier in the game Rooney had smashed him in the face so hard he was bleeding.
The ball movement looks like it's on a level that makes our guys just want to stand around and watch admiring. Looks like confidence got beaten out of us in the first half, and money I don't think players will see any bonuses but I could be mistaken.
I know some guys that are just following the bait lately after the world cup. They won't understand this and I'm getting tired of explaining it to them and fighting with the snobs about it at my work. I think it's somewhat debatable whether these are worth it for the league in the long run.
We shouldn't even bother I'll take the experience and learning how to compete with a EPL club firing on all cylinders instead of losing to (insert liga MX club here).
Remember when there were a lot of posters who said these friendlies were great for proving to bigger leagues that we were legit?
That's the unfortunate part of results like these. We as fan's understand the stakes and reality of these games, but unfortunately the rest of the world doesn't. And it still brings a negative view on the league and the prestige of our team.
I at one point liked them. And then you guys convinced me I was nuts. Seriously, I was nuts. I never thought they were league measurement though, thank god.
That may have been true at one time, but now we need to be playing them for something that matters to see where we are really at.
Pretty embarrassing. I thought we were ok in the first half till Meyers ******** up. Pennedo should have stopped the first one, aJ was a little unlucky on the pk. Meyer though....wtf? Second half was a bloodbath. Oh well, I knew before the game that Man U was a better team then us.
Ultimately, it's a friendly and a money grab. More than Chicago can say about tonight's game with San Jose....
I care so much more about Monday I don't even know what to say. I'll forget about this game tomorrow. No one will care beyond the Eurosnobs who won't come to be a fan for awhile anyway. Now we lose badly to the Sounders? That? That I will care about.
