if we are talking about fitness, ronaldo is number 1 as well. how many potential career ending injuries did he come back from? you have no case my friend. let it go.
Played good. He was all over the place! Shot on goal and then a nice save in own end. Ya I saw his one dive. A lot of worse ones out there today. Shook the ref's hand and walked off. Real classy move and a good sportsman. Will be remembered for that. Anyone complaining about him setting record, well, it's just sour grapes....
Trying to figure a record like this statistically is pointless. The only statistic that matters is the total number of goals scored. The question asked is not "who was the better player" or "who scored how many goals divided by how many games". Who scored the most goals? Klose. And he therefore deserves the record for most goals scored.
if that statistic is meaningful for you, then by all means. but it its just words for me. its just words. "top scorer" consists of 2 words. that is not enough to make it worth anything for me.
No one has scored more World Cup goals than Miroslav Klose. Simple really. Again, Ronaldo was a different class of player. But Klose is an excellent player as well, because he does the most important thing an attacking player can do. He deserves to have this record because he achieved it. He scored the most goals.
to you, such a record is meaningful. to me, ronaldo is still better in world cup scoring than klose, so his record is simply a technicality.
For the last time, Ronaldo is one of the best players I have ever seen and was considerably more talented than Klose, or probably any players of his era. I don't care that Klose scored most of them when close to goal, or that he gets good service from a fantastic midfield, or that none of them were sforbiciate or acrobatic goals. If Italy had a goalscorer as prolific as Klose we would be almost unbeatable. He has scored 16 goals in a sport in which scoring is low, in the most important tournament in the world. Add to that the fact that Germany have never lost a game when Klose has scored in it, and he deserves this record. Perhaps the Germans should start calling him "Klosinho" or "Klonaldo" and then maybe he will be recognized as an excellent goal scorer.
your argument has a false premise: that i do not think klose is good. i think he is good, and has demonstrated that he is one of the best goalscorers in world cup history. however, to simply state a "record" without putting any analysis into it is rather meaningless for me.
You should respect that Klose has played and scored in 4 wcs in a row if that's not an achievement.. Ronaldo also scored from a penalty and has an own goal counted undeservedly. If all Gerd Müller is the real top scorer by your standards
