We saw our share of turtles at Santa Rosa up in the Guanacaste, back all of 35 years ago.

Spent a couple of months wandering all around the country and had a fantastic time.
Bought some survey maps to get around, at that time one couldn't find a tourist book of the country or regular maps. The guy there heard me talking and asked where I was from, so I said LA (which was true at the time) he said bullpucky where are you from? Liverpool, originally. So he says. "My wife is from Liverpool" Had dinner at their place that night and spent Xmas with the whole extended family, including servants in their summer beach place, Playa Hermosa?

They called Xmas Summer because it's the dry season, a time when everybody took their holidays. Even though it's in the northern half of the world.

We had this old Toyota land cruiser, complete with bananas on the roof rack. Found some amazing quite places all around the country. Even Limon, There's even a Liverpool on the way to Limon.
Lots of adventure and lots of fun, we almost decided to stay and live. Far different in those days.
No condos, just small beach hotels and we did a lot of camping, Great camping down at Manuel Antonio NP.

    Thanks for the memories.

Several times. Over the past five or six years we've exclusively settled on Negil. We like to go just as the "season" ended and take advantage of nearly empty beaches and restaurants/food shacks. Also if you don't dig the resort scene Negril has some amazing little guest properties that spare you the sight of people wearing things they probably shouldn't. If you want a little more information message me.

What Moishe said. And yes it's very easy to get weed.

Also Kingston isn't the safest place but is worth a visit if you don't act like a stupid tourist.

Lots of beautiful places! I loved the Amalfi coast area, Positano, Ravello, and Praiano

I saw a clip from the same beach where some nuts stood behind the airport's wire fence so that they can literally be blown away by jet exhausts during take-off. o_O

For some people, that was the last thing they ever did. One of the dumbest ways to die that I can think of. So many ways to experience a strong wind w/o risking your life.

But that's the beauty of evolution...
