Did some dual screen watching of the Reign and USWNT games. Awesome job by the Reign not skipping a beat, missing out on so many players!!!!

I too had dual laptops but the Reign match was the main one. It was a very good performance by the team. The offense which I have complained so much about did not miss a beat at all.

At times I think our offense was better than some of those games when Kawasumi was out.

The non starter that impressed me the most was Nogueira. I thought she played the Fishlock role really well. She's a high energy player who is not afraid to make clean tackles. I like what she brings to the pitch.

Congrats to both Moscato and Brigman on making their Reign FC debut. Now we all await the triumphant return of Frisbie. Speaking of Brigman, I know it was just a couple of minutes but based on her two touches, the thing that struck me the most was how weak she looks and plays that way also. The two times she came in contact with the Breakers, she went down rather easily. Me thinks she might need to hit the weight room.

Am I right that we had already seen the Naho's CK/Winters' winning header combination in this season? I just don't remember in which game... Had to be vs Washington Spirit or Houston Dash, because I seem to remember reddish jerseys for the opponents...

Meanwhile Naho is tied at 2nd place of the whole league's assists' tally with 3, just behind Bev who leads with 4. o_O
    INAC Kobe Leonessa's assist-power?

Judging by NWSL's highlights of the match, it looks like, probably to adjust all of the missing players' replacements, Naho was played on the left-wing instead of the right-wing as usual. I seem to get that she was effective anyway, and after all she plays quite equally well with both feet (sometimes Sasaki also played her on the left in NT).

From watching the game there was constant switching between she and Dallstream all night so she definitely played both sides.

Another thing I forgot to mention is Kopmeyer had a great night. She made two big saves to preserve the shutout. One on a free kick and the other on a one on one with Reeves. In that same light, Reed had another goal line clearance bringing her tally to I believe 3 this season alone.

Did anyone else see a bit of 442 for the Reign last night? It seemed like Foxhoven and Goebel were up high together more than Foxhoven played AM, which worked because Nogueira and Winters controlled the midfield. I also thought Kawasumi played a bit more defensively than typical.

Good call on the lineup Blaze. Barnes at LB works because she's better on the ball moving forward than other options.

It was either a 4-4-2 or a traditional 4-5-1. What ever it was, it was not a 4-3-3. Both Dallstream and Kawasumi dropped really far back in the middle of the pitch. Winters and Nogueira worked very well together winning ball back.

Well Kopmeyer is in for more starts than she had originally thought. With Hope out being an extra in the show Orange is the New Black, Kopmeyer will in the very least be starting the game against WNY.

For those who haven't heard the news by now:

Also, if I'm Harvey and the Reign organization, they should probably suspend Solo for maybe 2 games or more regardless of it the NWSL punishes her or not.

Well, the girl seems to have an especial gift for going in search of trouble... o_O

Hopefully for Reign, this week's game seemed to show that Kopmeyer is more than up to the task (at least two brilliant saves on thursday). Has Reign a decent 3rd GK to bring on the bench for next games?

Let's remember that Seattle was playing the usually inept Boston. It'll be a different story when they face the much stronger WNY.

They might not have a choice but to suspend her if the charges stick. But let's wait until we have more information first.

That's a fair point but if I'm Harvey, even if come monday morning all this is drop and Hope comes out clean, I'll still suspend/discipline her somehow for purely bad decision making. One just don't throw these kinds of party or even attend one smack in the middle of the season. Even if the party was not thrown by her and it was mandatory for her to attend somehow, she is grown enough not to get involve in any situation that will require police intervention. That just shows poor judgement. Especially given that she had a game in less than 48 hours. All of this would be fine if it was the offseason.
Let her take sometime off to reflect on her behavior. The NWSL may not be all that and Seattle may need Hope services more than she needs the Reign but to preserve what they have going in Seattle with all the other players buying in, they need to make sure players realize that they are not above the system and can't get away with bad behavior.
All this is just my opinion as I'm one of those people who will gladly cut of my nose to spite my face so if it means this throws a wench in the progress they have made so far this season, so be it. It's better to take a stand now than to let it go and it start to become and issue with other players as well.

I'll disagree that what Hope is accused of doing would be fine even in the offseason. That kind of stuff is never okay. But I agree that even if the charges get cleared up, the right thing for the Reign to do would be benching Hope for the foreseeable future. If she were to return to playing without so much as a slap on the wrist from the Reign, that would reflect badly on the team and TPTB.

And as much as I want Seattle to lose to WNY today, I really don't want this ugly situation to affect the team chemistry on the field going forward. Seeing how well Harvey kept them together last year and has made them a near juggernaut this year, she will do her best to not make it an issue, or she'll use it to bring the team even closer together.

You are correct that it is not fine during the offseason either but as I fan, I'll won't concern myself with it as long as it is not affecting the team. During the season though, it's another matter.

I believe the team will be fine and I'm super glad that Haley got her first start and shut out before any of this happened. It would have been worse if she had to step in on such short notice because Solo was living it up somewhere. With the win on thursday, whether it was a depleted Boston or not, one have to think it helped her confidence going in today.

You know the Reign are going to be motivated against the Flash, seeing as how this is the only team they have yet to beat or even have a lead on this season. They're going to want to erase that black mark on their record with a strong showing. But given how unpredictable this league has been, you never know what will happen.

Regardless of whether the charges stick or not, this is the second time that Solo has been involved in a party where the police were called.. Granted, the last one was pre-NWSL, but it still is an issue that the league/USSF should respond to. The NFL has suspended players for putting the league in ill repute and I doubt anyone would think it inappropriate for something similar be levied against Solo. I also wonder if the league could require her to go into an alcohol abuse treatment program...

Prudence 1st in my opinion. To me if she is cleared of all wrong doing by the law, I see no reason the NWSL or Reign should punish her. And bringing up the NFL examples, when players are cleared, the NFL even leans itself towards no discipline. To me I want the WHOLE story laid out before I jump to suspending a player, not just half the info.

She may not have committed any crimes in the eyes of the law but her behavior does reflect poorly on the team and her employers. I'm sure there's something in their contracts against that

Tell that to Ben Roethlisberger, or the multiple players that have been arrested for DUI and are suspended before their trials.. The NFL most certainly does not lean towards no discipline if charges are dropped. This is particularly true with things like domestic violence.

Although, to add a caveat to my comment above, the "ill repute" suspension is often reserved for issues that make it to the national media...

Again, "her behavior" we don't know the who story!!! I'll pass on a RUMOR I heard: Her nephew was doing illegal activities in the house, and she objected. Things got physical, and the blame was put on her. So standing up for upholding the law, reflects poorly on her?!? Again, that's just one of many "rumors" flooting out there. For me I want to be fair in any judgements, and trying to call out punishments before the accused has had an opportunity to share their side, pretty much goes against the grain of how our legal system works.

Kopmeyer had a solid game against the Flash! And the team again waiting to go down a goal, before they went on the scoreboard. Yeah for resilience, but at some point, it may catch up to the team. I will say that it looked like the players coming back from NT duty seemed a little drained.

People who are doing nothing do not get arrested. If your cousin is selling drugs and you are that concerned, you call the cops. It is not here place to get involved.
As you said, it is all rumor and it might come out that she was the victim, however she should have put herself in such a situation in the first place. If I go to a party and it starts to get hairy, I leave.

But lets leave this topic for now and see how it all plays out
