I would be more concerned if it is finished or not.....i heard of one new terminal somewhere that never got finished but they still need it, so they have setup tents
Is this airport strike (20% of staff) likely to delay domestic flights out of Santos airport this evening?
It all comes down to timing. I cleared immigration and customs in ten minutes but it took 40 minutes to get my match tickets.
You mean Santos Dumont, right? Which is the downtown airport in Rio. Not Santos, the coastal city near São Paulo. Santos airport doesn't have commercial flights.
In my past experience, when entering the country the line for residents goes 100x faster. I've waited in the foreigner line with 2 other families while they processed the entire plane of residents. Just curious if they are still operating like this right now?
It used to be that citizens would just show the passport and be waved through. Now they scan citizens' passports. What takes longer for non-citizens is the clerk flipping through the pages to find the visa if that nationality requires it. So, it's almost the same for citizens and non-citizens now. I entered in November with my wife. I am a citizen, she is not. She went through faster than I did because the citizens' line was longer.
Leaving gru right now. 2hours from leaving the plane to getting to the gate for the next flight, including immigration , rechecking bags and printing a boarding pass and going back though security. Not terrible. Brazilian passport holders were very few so they flew through immigration. For Mr that was an hour or so.
@Kempa I might be able to throw you a bone here. For years (since 1998) I have waited in the foreigner line while traveling to Brazil with my Brazilian wife. Last night, I found out from my best friend (also has a Brazilian wife) that he goes through the resident line with her. Apparently, you can go through either line as long as someone in the family has the required passport. I feel like such an idiot but so happy all at the same time hahaha!
TAM just changed my return flight and totally f****d me over. Now I have to fly out of Manaus in the middle of the night (2 AM) and waste a nonrefundable night in a hotel I've already paid for, plus, they changed my flight from Sao Paolo to NYC to a day later, meaning I also have to book a hotel for Sao Paolo. After two hours on the phone it boils down to "I can get a refund if I'm not satisfied with the changes". Unbelievable. F this airline.
has anyone not received (like me) e-tickets for all their Avianca flights? How can I be sure my booking is still valid?
No, I had to log onto their website. If you have an old reservation code, there is a page to convert to the new number.
i got the new code but as it's too early to check in, i can't see the flight is still there or changed. Any way round this? I never created an account to have my flights listed there.
Just like to give an update to the locker situation Have noticed on my travels in recent days Sao Paulo Guarhalos Curitiba Porto Alegre All have lockers big enough to store suitcases for those interested
anyone has found flights on the 4th or 5th from fortaleza or rio to salvador to be able to watch 2 q finals?
I am leaving Rio at 9:40 PM on the 4th arriving in Salvador at 11:40 PM. Planning to attend 58 and 59. Is this flight no longer available?? It is TAM #3152
Has TAM airlines been strict on carry on luggage? Wasn't sure if they checked the weight cause I thought I read it must be 11 lbs which is nearly impossible if you're not trying to have any checked baggage.
Galeao is big never noticed them but wasn't looking on my trip through there. The places I mentioned had the lockers on the outside of the building IE the type of distance where you find the smokers going from the building IE out the door not far
