Neuer - Boateng, Mertesacker, Hummels, Höwedes - Lahm - Schürrle, Khedira, Kroos, Podolski - Müller

That's how they linep up in the final training session today

Based on the goals this World Cup mainly scored, aerial attack will be a key

So teams generally prefer to play more direct, which is the exact opposite of what Loew is planning to play from this lineup

Who can support Mueller/Schuerrle to score? Big question mark here. Both of them are good finishers but they need someone who can hold-up n play back-to-goal in order to support

There are so many question marks with this lineup ... I decided to curb my expectations even more. The only thing I know about tomorrow for sure is Ill be drinking some Maß at a public viewing.

What kind of formation is this, 4-1-4-1? Anyway, everything like expected, no Götze, no Schweinsteiger, Özil isn't in form. But I don't see how Schürrle > Götze in any position.

    How can you tell that?

Gawd aside from Kroos that front line-up looks devoid of any creativity. Maybe Lahm and Hummels will be creative from deep.

I would have probably started Ozil and Durm over Poldi and Höwedes. But i like everything else in the line up.

Having Lahm, Khedira, Kross in Midfield makes us better defensively.

Maybe Goetze over Schürrle. But him and Poldi have looked decent though. Can see why they are starting.

This has no creativity or penetration..

5 natural defenders, plus a conservative midfielder, plus a non penetrating midfielder, plus a run with your head down in a straight line attacker...

So only muller and schurrle as creative attacking penetrating players :p

On the bright side it's not a tiki-taka line up and defense will not play a high-line because i am sick and tired of that.

I do really enjoy coming in here and seeing all of the experts proclaim their all-knowing ways beyond that of which Loew is clearly aware. It is not as if the guy has won any matches or managed a squad before.

Sakes alive, people. Now I know why folks stay away from here for extended periods of time. We're called SUPPORTers for a reason.

That's the ideal line-up actually. Considering our most in form, and tactically important players. It's the only option really. Conservative at back. Khedira to provide central penetration and most in form front three.

I do hope the overwhelming pessimism over here will die down a bit after we destroy Portugal.

Would take this only if Podolski is replaced by Goetze
