How about we use this thread to discuss teams and games not involving our own?

this is for us Portugal fans.

anyways the Brazilians won today 3-1.... tbh, I felt the ref bailed them out (and I know many others do too)...

For sure many are partying in Toronto (not around my house thankfully) along with many Portuguese I imagine. I just cant stand their gigantic mouths so I will not take part in any of that nonsense.

Brasil will win the World Cup for a variety of reasons….What you touched on is one.

It's going to be Argentina in 1978 all over again.

I'm 50/50 on the penalty. Sure, he deliberately took a dive backward but the Croatian defender had his hands around his shoulder. That's not the place for his hands to be, not when he's around the penalty area. Aside from that, i don't see Brazil winning this tournament, they are going to have problems in the knockout stages.

its a fair point, but very soft call. if it was the other way around, I dont feel the ref would have called it.

anyways Brasil will not win WC IMHO, You cant win the WC when your keeper plays for Toronto FC (steaming pile of shit of the MLS) and he didnt look too good out there today.

Spain is still the best team and the team to beat.

Brazil struggled with the tactics of a 2nd tier european team!

when they face Spain/Netherlands, Italy/ England, Germany/France (they will have to get through these teams to make the final)

    BRASIU....ACABOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This isnt copa america, South Americans play dinosaur stone age football their coaches are garbage, their tactics shit, they think it is still 2002.
, Brazil will only win this WC if they play chile, uruguay, get the refs help against Germany/France in the semis and then beat Argentina in the final (which wont happen cause Portugal will send Argentina back home on the quarters to comb their mullets and study more to catch up to modern tactics).

    Agreed.

Yeah, i don't think Brazil has much depth at GK to begin with but i really think it's time for them to move on from Julio Cesar. Oh, Scolari...

We should be able to rep more than once for the same post.

    I also think

    BRASIU....ACABOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but if they get calls to go their way like they did today ... all tournament, it's going to be hard.

a football mad nation with a country of 180 million and they have no depth at GK. hard to believe, but hey guess we dont have it as bad as people make it out.

Well you know how Scolari is, Julio Cesar is part of the familia.

Agreed, but Croatia is a small country with little to no influence in FIFA. if they get scandalous calls against the big Euro Fish like Italy, Germany, France, Spain
than FIFA wont hear the end of it, and I believe even with Brazil at home refs wont want to purposely make such bad calls against the major european powers. Brazil is going to have to pray the Big Euro fish go on a choking spree so they can play all their tactically naive, cuckold South American friends like Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentian until the final.

anyways respect to Croatia, a tiny nation gave Brazil a tough match. they have many skillful players and are always fun to watch.

Anyone notice the Japanese refs kept smiling through out the game. A big pay day for them. Croatia, you've earned my respect and by some miracle, I hope you go through.

I don't know how strong Mexico and Cameroon really are, because this Croatia is a serious side. Too bad their defense is not 100% solid.

Soft penalty yesterday. Fred should be embarrassed.

I'm thinking Mexico beats Cameroon, Spain smoke the Dutch, and Chile have no problems with the Aussies this evening

Why didn't any of the Croatian defenders take out Oscar? It was painful to watch Oscar walk past the defense and then toe punt it in the net. Pepe or Bruno Alves would of drop kicked that little shrimp.

Imagine Julio Cesar facing FKs from Ronaldo?

anyways this MEX-CAM game is pretty interesting, a couple of goals ruled out for offside against Mex.

Seems like Brasiu is rigging this game for a draw to make it easier for them

I think some of the major euro sides will get ********ed by refs,

FIFA wants the cup in BRASIUUUU

Only if they can defend better than they have in the past. Im told they are going to play with 5 defenders for this game. Should be interesting.

Because they were too busy getting hacked from behind in the build-up play by the Brazucas. 1978 all over again. Fifa wants brazil to win so they can shut all the starving favela slum people who are protesting up.

Haha, I was shocked they gave Neymar a yellow card for an elbow :D Trying to make it look legit I guess.

The Brazilian defense looks too weak. Not sure the refs could help them all the way to finals without making it look like a complete farce.

    Netherlands destroyed Spain 5-1

    amazing

I still would not count out Spain, this could be a kick in the ass that they needed. Del Bosque will make changes and they will attempt to get out of the group, probbaly will play Brasiu in round of 16.

as for the Dutch, Van Gaal seems to having them playing well. with plus 4 GD already they will likely finish first and make a deep run this year.

Fun game to watch, for sure.
Holland could make a deep run assuming they win Group B.
Spain's defense was awful. And to think the Spanish media was pushing for Sergio Ramos to win the Ballon D'Or over Ronaldo because Ramos scored in the Champs League final.
Ignoring the fact that Ronaldo shattered the Champs League record by scoring 17 goals.
