@Dr. Gamera has started a World Cup prediction game. DG, want to post that link in here one last time? Otherwise, sit back and talk about all the games with your fellow N+A posters.
I have been going back and forth between 2-0 and 3-1 to Brazil. Since @ImaPuppy just picked 2-0, I'll say 3-1 in a scoreline that flatters the Brazilians a bit. I rather like this Croatia side.
Bold prediction. I think Brazil wins by more than 2 goals. My surprising prediction in this group is that Croatia finishes last.
The problem with Croatia is that I don't know where the goals will come from. Even with Mandzukic, they only scored 12 in 10 qualifying matches which was tied for least among first or second place teams in UEFA qualifying (Greece also had 12)...and Mandzukic is out for this one.
2-0 home team. The pressure before the first goal will be so heavy that the entire world will feel the weight of a frustrated, pissed off and complexly hopeful yet resigned to mediocre national team tournament. And with the first goal, all that weight will shift to Croatia. This is better than Christmas.
This is why I think they will struggle in this group. I can see Brazil, Mexico and Cameroon, coming back if they find themselves down. Croatia just does not match up well with the other teams in their group.
Nishimura will be officiating this one. He has a solid resume but also produced two red cards in the 2010 WC (including one to Felipe Melo of Brazil).
FIFA has this rigged so Brazil win imagine if Brazil lose their first game all the riots and loitering
Nicola Jelavic is more the. Capable of scoring and Modric also knows how to score esp on quick counters
I'm wearing my alternate kit today (which means the checkers of Croatia), but I don't like this match-up. We have little cutting edge in front of goal available to us today. Brazil 2-0 Croatia.
I really do not believe that FIFA wants to get involved in match-fixing as the WC is the single best sporting property on the planet and they would want nothing to mar it. HOWEVER, IF there was ever a tournament they would really want to make sure the home side did well in, this one would definitely be it.
There's nothing that get's under my skin quite as much as remaining in a public place for a protracted period of time with no apparent purpose!
One line in and it's already funny: "BRAZIL Strength: As host country, team will play in the stadium least likely to collapse at any moment" Edit: Oh lord.. Roster: Contains a record seven “Next Pele”s
