Mauricio Tarrico (Argentinos Juniors) is the assistant coach at Sunderland hence the interest in Argentine players as at Brighton where they signed Leonardo Ulloa and a couple of others.

Pablo Osvaldo suspended by Southampton for brawling with Jose Fonte. Was only a matter of time given his past history//

Reports suggest there was ‘blood everywhere’ following the incident and Southampton have moved swiftly to ban Osvaldo, releasing the following statement.

‘Southampton Football Club has today suspended striker Dani Osvaldo for two weeks, following an incident at the club’s Staplewood training ground.

‘The club has taken swift and proper action for what it considers a breach of the conduct expected of its players.

‘Southampton will be making no further comment on this matter.’

Sunderland are going down. Vergini has been terrible. Ustari and Scocco cannot even get a game..

Meanwhile Julian Speroni has been one of the best keepers in the PL. I'd take him over Romero in a heartbeat.

If you guys are curious, apparently Tottenham bought Lamela injured, he had a tear high up his thigh. Which isn't that much of a surprise nor is it such a bad thing, I've been lead to believe for awhile now he had an injury in his leg. However I wasn't aware that Tottenham didn't pick it up on his medical scan.

That's shocking frankly, the injury in his leg led to him overcompensating and effing up his back. That's why initially Tottenham didn't know what was wrong with him and it's why after discovering the error they didn't talk about it much, because they knew it was their fault.

Shame...... I firmly believe while not much could have saved Tottenham's season like Eriksen towards the end of the season Lamela would have settled into his role and looked strong for next season, probably be going to the World Cup.

Yeah he was part of the team during qualifying when he was healthy. You guys have a hell of a player, I imagine he will end up making alot of Yids happy after a tough start. Just tell Levy and Pochettino to leave Driussi out of this, let us get some time with him on the first team.

Is that even real? I read it the other day but it seems like your typical random link because we have an Argentinean manager. I expect us to be linked to every Argentinean footballer alive the next couple months.

I wouldn't mind buying him and loaning back for two seasons like Alexis Sanchez when he signed for Udinese.

He's a great prospect, so its certainly possible. They dont have much budget, and would try to pull a quick one signing him on the cheap and stashing him I'd imagine.

I want to see play this coming season, Rivers going to have to sell so itll be a bit of a rebuild. Might as well get him battle tested.

Was watching his progress in the game on the phone(watching San Lorenzo on the tele),glad to see him doing well. Poch will do him a lot of good. He is a super talent that just needs time to adjust. I think one of he main reasons they got Pochettino was for Coco(As well as him being a very promising manager).

Doing exactly the same switching between games also my thoughts on Poch too he did well at his last club
One thing that puzzles me is the language barrier for the coach
they should also bring over Yacoub because he was playing on West Bromwich Albion

Pochettino can speak English but avoided it last season to avoid any confusion in press conferences. Not surprising really given that the tabloid media are the lowest of the low.

Yacob has been pretty decent when he has played but he is too slow. The management need to look to Kranevitter, Romero (Gaston and Lucas) and beyond that to Bruno Zuculini although the last two are more box to box types.

I hope Poch while he does impress on Lamela the need to sometimes put in a defensive effort that he does not turn him into a running machine while losing his flair and technique.

Speaking of Bruno he is likely to move to Valencia on a season long loan courtesy of El Raton.

Don't know much about Ferreyra other than being an Fm legend. He came on as sub and started the last 2 pre season games for Newcastle. What are his strenths/weaknesses? Is he a number 9 type?

I think he'll get games seeing as how Cisse is injured/terrible form and the only other strikers are Riviere and a youth Spanish player bought from La Segunda (Perez).

He is a poacher and finisher but he is not a Milburn character who will hustle and bustle opposition centrebacks. He finds space well though and is very determined and quite capable of pulling off a spectacular finish. Good header of the ball as well. His build up play needs plenty of work.

I like Newcastle having had close relations with a girl from Ponteland but I would prefer Argentine strikers to develop outside of the PL. Tevez and Aguero now are losing their subtlety as players because the physical aspect is still so dominant in the English game.

Newcastle will need a creative midfielder to feed him with Cabella down the wing being useful. As will Colo to get him familiarized and someone to talk to.

there is Siem de Jong who will also provide some creativity alongside Cabella. A hell of a difference in midfield compared to last season after Cabaye left. There is alot of talk of Grenier still coming but I think unlikely.

Jonas Guterrez is still there, but seemingly frozen out because of some appearance clause, as well as Ayoze Perez who is a fellow spanish speaker.

No sign of Chucky today. I hope Pardew doesn't pull out the same nonsense when he played Mullins ahead of Mascherano.....
