After watching this game v spain.i would say that diego bejarano, chumacero, arze, and mojica have no business on this team at this point
No disrespect to Chumacero but he looks like a boy amongst men there. And is it just me or is Gutierrez looking more and more like a younger clone of Raldes?
^^thats true, the whole mid is unenergetic and lost. Conejo and Martins are alone. It worries me that Azkargorta will mess up the Bolivar squad if he cant call up and play the right guys for these games. Mirando should be there
The entire team playing defense, and as I thought not one guy who will hold the ball and make a quality pass on a consistent basis. They need to push up more and threaten their goal, otherwise we're just playing scared. They need to show more personality on the pitch.
I give the team a C+. We didn't get killed like everyone predicted. We didn't really show anything then what we already know. I don't know what to think. If we would of tried and played maybe we would of gotten killed. I think we played it safe.
Agree. We played well when they attacked...but we didn't attack any ourselves. The state speaks volumes. They had 20 shots on goal...we had 2. lol
In all honestly I was going to see Bolivia vs Greece because I got good seats. It's Friday why not go, but after seeing them play I feel like it will be a good match. Greece isn't a powerhouse like Spain, I think our boys will be a little more confident and maybe we can get a good result to end this cycle. The last game I saw Bolivia was at RFK in 2011 or 2012 against Guatemala we lost 3-0 and I was bummed out. I hope that this Friday our boys play a little different. Maybe a little Arrisciata maybe a little more Cardozo, I'm tired of watching our boys play with 11 behind the ball. Keeping all Hope even when it doesn't matter, we don't know what will happen after Friday. If Azkargorta will stay or if they will get someone else, I hope that something happens its been 20 years since 1994, and boy has it been ruff. I almost feel like an Arsenal fan, LOL.. JK..
He's got to be referring to Arsenal de Sarandi. It's the only somewhat close comparison to ours. But hey...we bitch and moan but we are still here loyal to the cause. This is the main reason I love this forum. Anyone can be fan of Brazil or Argentina. It takes a lot of resilience, heart (and balls) to be bolivian!
The plastic Brasil/Spain/Argentina/Germany fans are ridiculous, reminds me of Miami Heat fans who never heard of the team before Lebron signed for them. Good point Marco. Didn't catch the game but I heard it was a shooting gallery and we barely crossed into their field. All of the highlights currently up there isn't one that has us with a dangerous play. I kind of don't like these games because we know what will happen and we will be super defensive. That best that could have come out was a tie and that can be valuable when you're playing for points in a tournament but this was a friendly and I kind of see it as an opportunity lost that we were so defensive. I get it though, try to play straight up with Spain and we get wrecked by goleada. Either way this seems like a wasted chance. Maybe I'm wrong though, like I said I didn't catch the game. Anyone showed anything positive from our guys or anything to be optimistic about?
Yep! LOL The phrase "jugamos como nunca....perdimos como siempre" always comes up in my head when I think of our NT and some of the greatest moments we've had but also endured always really hard times.
http://www.late.com.bo/si-lo-puedes-sonar-lo-puedes-hacer/ I just saw this article, apparently in Spain the opinion is that our national team went more to meet their players than to play the game. They call Chumacero ingenuo because of some comments he made post game...unfortunate.
Just sounds like sour grapes that they didn't pound us into the ground because Bigoton had us play smart, play this game serious, and had us basically park the bus. They friggin only had 1 real goal. The PK call was dubious at best. Sour grapes. Screw the press. For our Bolivian players, many of them will never get to europe or even get another chance like this to play against or alongside guys like that. They don't realize that.
El Diablo getting the red . . . we can now only imagine how he would have performed the rest of the game and the other two matches. Hard Times indeed.
Well, for a couple of the guys on our team it's probably true, unfortunately. And Chumaceros comments are idiotic. You're supposed to be a professional player yet he sounds like a friggin teeny bopper fawning over Justin Bieber. Weak mentality, where's your pride.
Hey I will be making the drive to New jersey to watch the game on friday. I'm heading there early in hopes of meeting the players at their hotel to hopefully take some pictures with some of my favorite players. Please, if anyone finds out what hotel or what training pitch they are using, please let me know. I will do the same for you all if I find that out. Any info would be of great help fellas.
They're staying at Sheraton New York Times Square, I have Arrascaita on facebook and checked in there. Have fun bro! hope we get the W.
Also he posted pictures of him with a bunch of Spain players...You should add him, he's really active on facebook keeps you updated!
Thats interesting. This article on eldeber.com.bo said that they were at sheraton in lincoln harbor, new jersey, and that they're training at montclair university. If anyone can confirm?
Anyone see, Bolivia's 'Showbol' team quyalified to apparently the World Cup of it? They won 3rd place recently in the Copa America of it. Had Etcheverry, Moreno, among other aging stars. Pretty cooL!
