I will legit feel sorry for their fans if that were to happen. Great for us, though!

    10 mil for oribe?
it was 5 mil plus Aldrete and his value is like -1mil so it was really 4 mil for oribe.:p

Might as well buy their keeper too and put Oswaldo's skeleton in a museum.

Alderete was a seperate deal, about 3 mill iirc?

And we desperately need a lb, so it was a good move.

Ooh, nice. Big, skillful, physical player. Reminds me a bit of Oscar Cardozo.

The original deal was 5 Mil for Oribe + Aldrete. Final deal was 10 Mil for Oribe, then we bought Aldrete outright for 3 Mil.

We would have gladly paid 3 Mil for Layun's sister to replace the worthless Lacerda. That was our biggest position of need this summer.

    Give me a sec.

EDIT: It was Gustavo Mendoza from Fox Sports where I first got the estimate, but I can't find the article. There's other sources you can look through, though.

    http://www.sdpnoticias.com/deportes...-peralta-es-aguila-por-10-millones-de-dolares

    http://brasil.eluniversal.com.mx/article/2014/05/14/oribe-peralta-el-mejor-pagado-de-la-historia

Double EDIT: FWIW, El Siglo de Torreon claims it was more like 8 mil.

Triple EDIT: Seems the final estimates haven't been "officially" released.

No se revelaron los montos de este traspaso. Sin embargo, medios locales refieren que el acuerdo supera los 10 millones de dólares.

If Chivas end up taking Calderon that would be amazing. Stay away from Escoboza.

    Huge rumor!

Suena Jefferson Montero para llegar a Santos

The article states that we'd likely have to give up Chuletita Orozco, which is fine by me as long as we're recieving Montero in exchange. With Montero on the left and Darwin on the right, our offense would be DEADLY.

Also, we're apparently in the running for another Argentinian CB, Fernando Tobio.

    More Varela rumors

Nothing concrete yet, though it's interesting to note that we only have 2 foreigner spots left open, yet we're rumored to be after at least 4 foreigners. Makes me think that we will try to get rid of Mauro Cejas, since he is the weakest link out of our 4 extranjeros (Renteria, Darwin, and Ribair). Also worth noting that the midfield is another one of our areas of need and Cejas has underperformed.

I'm extremely satisfied with how the defense is shaping up. We got rid of all the disappointing short players that were just taking up space, and the worst defender, Lacerda. I'd imagine the starting back 4 will look like this for the next tourney:

    Aldrete ----- Alanis ----- Izquierdoz ----- Abella

Guy on twitter says we are only getting one more player and its gonna be an attacking player. Rules out Chuleta going to Atlas and Montero coming to us.

holy shit there has been a lot of movement.. i appreciate yall keeping up on movement/rumors... i've been working like a straight pyramid building egyptian.

That being said, the defense is really shaping up. The midfield is still a bit concerning. However, I am really happy this directiva is splashing out money.

    Santos preguntó por Diego González

Central defender from Lanus who played very well against us in Libertadores, and has offers from Europe. Santos is apparently very interested in his services and is ready to buy him outright.

At this point I'd rather we get another defensive player than another forward. With Darwin Renteria and Chuleta we don't need another one, maybe a midfielder.

Plus, we have kids who are ready to step up from our cantera. I wouldn't mind seeing another youngster make his debut, we need to be thinking of the future now that the Oribe era has come and gone.

So, officially, we've only added Aldrete and lost Peralta, Herrera, and Lacerda, right?

I heard on twitter Izquierdoz is wrapped up but not official... could we really take Gonzalez from them as well? I think thats unlikely.. really hope either Varela or Montero pan out, preferably both but again, unlikely

The most recent article (the Gonzalez one) stated that Izquierdoz been signed for 4 years and will be ready for training camp on June 9th. I think it's looking too much like a possibility at this point to dismiss it, so I wouldn't worry about it.

We've also parted ways with Osmar Mares and Marc Crosas which leaves us with plenty of room for more signings.

Thanks, man. We don't have a lot of members, but what we lack in numbers, we make up for with substance. ;)

Yeah, the Xolos thread is surprisingly dead. Weird because the team is very popular and a recent champion. There's probably not enough English-speaking fans that know about your subforum. We all knew the Xolos Nad fanbase was just riding along while the bandwagon was lively.
