Hear what you wanna hear, and say what you wanna say... skip to 2:40 for the big party at 37,000 feet with Yaya clearly "in attendance": And day-um, Cesc wasn't lying. Those headphones block out everything. Carrying on with the sublime, the bizarre, the ridiculous, and the plain stupid from here...
Speaking of Manchester, birthdays, and sulking, today is also Morissey's birthday. He should wish for Man U to stop sucking.
In response to @Umar (from the other closed thread), how do we know if it's not the woman who chose to stay at home though? And do we know if the kids grew up around nannies who did most of the job in place of the mom? And why should anybody be awarded such a sum for taking care of his or her own children???
the real obscenity is that anyone would have that much money to begin with. otherwise it's pretty standard that couples split their belongings down the middle when they divorce.
We don't know. But the woman isn't usually sitting at home doing nothing, even if there is a nanny. And you're not awarding a sum to the woman - you're distributing the family assets between the family. The father should also take care of his own children too, but you know full well that the mother is usually the main person looking after the family. And the more the woman stays at home, the less opportunity she has to earn an income. A person who spends a few decades away from work has effectively killed off their chances of having a career and decent income in later life. The same arguments about fairness can be applied to the man. How do we know that it's not his employees who are doing all the work. Why should anyone on the planet be allowed to amass a sum that they will struggle to spend in a lifetime, when their employees who often work just as hard get a pittance in comparison? Personally my own code of ethics doesn't promote a 50-50 split, but in the Western world I think it's not an outrageous way to divide the financial assets that have accumulated because the woman and man have together established a lifestyle where one of them can accumulate vast wealth.
Hypothetically. What if there was a relationship where the woman is the bread winner with vast wealth and the man is a stay at home "mom" Do they still split it 50/50? Or is there a double standard?
There's nothing obscene about someone having that amount of money IMO And IMO, nobody should get 50% of what they didn't put in an equal amout of work for (ideas, expertises, etc..)
The man gets "something" (see Britney spears or Madonna's ex-husbands), but i've never heard of a case were the man got 50% though.
How's it the family asset when the brain behind the business that brought the wealth is the man (in this situation)? And let's not act like his wife wasn't enjoying the wealth while they were married and like she wasn't spending much more money than most people could make. I need to check for a bit more info, but i don't think she was a stay at home wife for the whole 27years of their mariage though..
Because, as Umar already said and as courts have consistently found, the person going out and making money for the household doesn't have the freedom to do that if the other partner isn't taking care of the family and home (at significant personal cost, too). Sure, just as he was. If there was no real division of labor between them -- if, instead, their money paid for nannies to take care of the children and a house manager to take care of household affairs, while she spent her waking hours enjoying their wealth, then that's an argument he will certainly deploy to get the share allocated to her reduced.
Good job by the person in charge of LPB's English twitter feed. .@Casillasworld: "We didn't reach the final by luck. We worked hard, we knew how to suffer and win. We deserve to be in the final." #RMLie— Real Madrid C.F. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@realmadriden) May 23, 2014
I'd love to know how they'll reconcile a move like that with their need to come into alignment with FFP.
So, high stakes tonight: finally the Decima for LPB (imagine the forum going nuts), or Atletico wins CL for the first time (imagine the forum going nuts).
