I bet you didn't know that Santo's players had some pipes on them. It doesn't get any cornier than this.

Everyone loves Santos because...they have a great pitch.

In-depth interview with some of the staff. Gotta keep the employees happy.

    Some more news...

This being the 3rd time that 'Chiquimarco' has handicapped our team during important matches, Oribe feels that there might be prejudice involved and wishes that he no longer gets to referee another Santos game.

Oribe Peralta se quejó de Marco Rodríguez

The team is already looking to rebound after yet another spectacular exit from the tournament. They'll take a short break, then report for the pretemporada on the 9th of June. Plans for new transfers have begun.

Glad that, on paper, we aren't getting rid of any of the big fish in our squad. Should be able to at least patch up the defense if we sell a few of these

There are rumblings about Carlos and Oribe, though both deals would be awful and I doubt we bite unless they truly need the money.

    http://www.aztecadeportes.com/notas/liga-mx/2014-05-12-19-48/oribe-peralta-sera-jugador-del-america/

This one sees Oribe going to Amierdica for 5 million in cash, and El Rifle Andrade. lol no

    http://laaficion.milenio.com/santos...-Tigres-Lucas_Lobos-Portugal_0_297570456.html

This one is even worse: Darwin to Tigres for cash and Lucas Lobos. I like Lucas, but he's on the tail end of his career and we would be strengthening a rival while getting much weaker in return. Yeah, not happening.

Good news is that Caixinha will be back.
Pedro Caixinha continuará al frente del Santos Laguna

Yeah, I am saddened by his departure. It was quite shocking actually. Apparently, his wife wanted a move, and he did not get along well with Carlos Darwin outside of the pitch. That factored into his decision to split. Worry not though, the juicy rumors that I'm hearing from my "sources," are helping to ease the pain.

If you look at our history, every time we sold our best strikers to America, we did so with the knowledge that we had a potentially better replacement ready to take the role. This time, it's our number 9, Andres Renteria. Despite playing out of position all year, he responded with his most productive season ever. Management is very high on him. We have such a rich history of lethal strikers, and Andres will fill void nicely.

Irraragori is not a stupid man. Just remember how pissed we all were when we sold Vuoso, then Benitez back-to-back. It all worked out for the better, and we even got a championship out of it. I'm very excited to see what we do in the offseason. We desperately need a mid, and a LB. I think our offense will stay potent, and could potentially be better, depending on how well Renteria responds to being the top dog. We will see, gentleman, stay tuned.

Actually, Galindo is coming back from loan but I don't think Caixinha rates him at all. We shouldn't need a CB with Araujo there but for whatever reason Caixinha won't try him out with Alanis

Agreed, ideally we should see a lineup consisting of both Araujo and Alanis - who really came to his own as a CB. He's a beast in the air.

    [RB] ----- Alanis ----- Araujo ----- Abella

Edit: and boy am I glad to see that Lacerda will not be coming back. He was beyond awful. Even if we don't find a replacement, his departure will be addition by subtraction.

Araujo was on loan unfortunately. We should go in to make it permanent but it appears either Caixinha doesnt rate him anymore or he pissed him off.

Alderete would have been perfect. But with Layun leaving they will need him. I was getting excited as there were some twitter rumblings saying Alderete was involved in the deal and not Andrade.

Ribair ended up being pretty good, so hopefully our scouting keeps up.

    what happened to Ibanez?

Our scouts in South America are our saving grace... the ones in Mexico, not so much...

Unfortunately, he's also only here on loan. For some reason, I thought that we had already purchased Araujo.

Looks like Caixinha will be suspended for two games. Also, El Turco didn't even want Oribe as he already had plans to bring in players he knew from Argentina. Management forced the sale. I bet he regrets joining America more and more each day, lol.

ahh hell wtf man, i thought we had Ibañez.

And Atlas have money now too, fvck.

Maybe Caxinha stopped playing Ibañez and Araujo because he knew they were probably leaving at the end of the season? Although that seems like dumb reasoning so ill assume that wasnt it.

Man, I really wish I could post about what I've been hearing, but as it stands, they're just rumors. I'd rather just wait till someone reputable confirms. I think there will be plenty to be excited about soon enough. ;)

That's what I assumed as well, though still not a smart move. Use 'em if you got 'em.

Ive read Varela from Porto is coming. Decent signing if true, hes fast and tricky although he has been out of form since around the beginning of the season i think. Hes 29 though.

    Any info on local players?

So, apparently, we did end up signing Aldrete but it had nothing to do with the Oribe transfer
