    We need a new DT

I imagine it will be a caretaker coach until we get closer to the next WCQ

Hopefully a coach that knows the youth and talent pool of our country.

I wonder how Baldivieso is doing.

If like villegas...he is an excellent coach! If we tap Villegas for the seleccion then it will be a great coach for la sele AND las tigrecillas will lose their coach :D two birds one stone!

Agreed. He would be ideal. He knows our youth better than anyone else. I couldnt believe how little people in Bolivia knew about that sub 17 tourney 4 years ago. Sad.

Baldi can move people, but dude isnt professional and takes to many things personal.

I found this video about a tournament in NYC called Cosmos copa, turns out there is a Bolivian "national" team. I enjoyed watching, looks like they're well organized. Since it's loosely related to our national team ( it's a stretch) I figured this was a good place to post it. Enjoy!

IMO Daniel Vaca(35), Ronald Raldes(33), and Carlos Saucedo(34) shouldn't even be considered anymore... There is no way they'll make it to 2018 Qualifiers, they're just wasting a spot for other players that could be getting some minutes in international games...

Don't get me wrong Carlos Saucedo, unfortunately for him started shining to late in his career, he's doing great right now, but no way that at 36 he's gonna be playing qualifiers. Raldes is still somewhat good, but the years are gonna catch up to him. Vaca is not even that good of a keeper, so we wont even miss him!

Hope this is the last time they're called.

Raldes as a CB can play probably until his deep 30s.

He's our Juan Manuel Pena of this generation. Although he's not as fast, he can still be useful if we need a bandaid for our backline.

Raldes IMO is one of the greatest defenders of all time in our NT. Among many other reasons, I think it's a great idea to keep him on because he can pass his defensive knowledge and experience to the next generation.

I agree w Eber; move over Raldes. Thanks for your service, you did great, but now its time to give a chance to players who actually can get to 2018 in shape.

Don't disagree there should be a transition soon, but this is the stage where our 'legendary' players pass the torch little by little to the next guys. Raldes is still good at his age, but in a year I don't want to see him starting, instead on the bench at MOST.

In that case I would say, call Raldes and bring him in 20-30 mins at most.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't heard that Raldes will be the starter and/or that he will play all 90 mins. Based on reputation and current results, I think we owe Bigote the benefit of doubt as to who the starters will be and how the substitutions will take place.

Then how are we all supposed to be armchair coaches if we do that?

What does that mean? All I'm saying is that we see what kind of team our NT is against Spain and Greece. Yes, we are all speculating based on just the roster list but lets see what they've been working on. Hopefully the game with Spain will be televised in some form.

It's fine and good if he wants to keep Raldes, but at least he should have picked one young CB to start bringing along. As far as the rest of the team I like most of the choices, but What Happened to Castro form Strongest, he's playing better than Veizaga. They don't play the same position, but Castro was doing well in Libertadores, Veizaga didn't even play.

What's up with Jhasmani Campos or Nelvin Soliz?

But like all coaches, Bigoton has 'his guys'.

No one is criticizing Azkargota, all I'm saying is they wont make it to qualifiers... Perhaps we can make an exception with Raldes as a sub as you guys suggest, specially to transfer experience...

Also keep in mind these two games are the last ones Azkargota is gonna coach, in September they're gonna have elections in the FBF, and they gonna chose a new DT. While Azkargota stays with Bolivar hopefully. I think Villegas should get a shot at the DT position for all the championships he has won lately. (Also hopefully The Strongest goes down without him!:p)

PS: I was hoping he would call the kid Gamarra from AC Milan, I'm afraid the Italian NT is gonna steal him from us if we don't act quick.

Now that you mention it, Azkargorta is leaving so he wants to win those two games. He's worried about building for the future, so of course he'll call experienced guys and screw the kids. Along with those kids is Gamarra, who should have been called, if anything just to make sure he stays with us.

He's not going to be our coach for long--he's probably giving 'his guys' a last run for their money while he's coach.
