It's kind of an American thing...we all like to do our own thing! I don't see anything wrong with a sea of red, white, and blue as long as we're loud!

Regardless of what US Soccer gear we decide to wear, I guarantee you there will be at least one douchebag wearing club gear on gameday!! Never fails!!

Let's hope I'm wrong! (HA! Right...)

That would be extremely disappointing to see someone show up in a ManU or Barca kit....or even Sounders or Galaxy. C'mon you spent 5 grand to come, spend $30 more for a US t-shirt!

You would think that's the case but it sadly happens all the time! IMO what better place to rep our Yanks than Assteca during the HEX but noooooo some douche decided to wear his sounders kit instead. I have nothing against the sounder but holy crap man! Can't you leave it in the closet for one effen day!? When I asked him what's up with his club gear, he said "I want to stand out!" Ohhh you're standing out alright!

My buddy and I make a habit out of having loud conversations right next to those people:
"Hey, isn't it great that Man U is playing here today!"
"Yeah, I can't wait to see Van Persie."

Does anyone else have any info on this "ticket certificate" thing for the visa? We are going to the embassy in DC this week, but we'd like to be sure that we don't need the actual tickets (which I am picking up in Brazil), as opposed to the e-mail confirmation. Any help is appreciated.

Pretty sure the ticket certificate is made up entirely.

Hi guys, I wanted to mention to US travelers out there that I'll be in New Orleans, Louisiana next weekend from the evening of the 23rd through mid-day on Memorial Day, the 26th. Besides knowing a couple of y'all on here who live there, I figured I might not be the only one going down there for the holiday weekend.

If you happen to be making the same trip for the holiday (or live in the area), it would be great to meet up and talk Brazil travel planning and World Cup football over the long weekend. There are obviously a ton of great places we could hang and chat, and I'd be happy to coordinate a time and place. If you'll be around, let me know and I'll make it happen. (cross-posting on a few US-heavy threads)

Enjoy your time in New Orleans. I won't be down there, but I am definitely down for a meetup in Natal and/or Manaus!

Anyone see a confirmation that we can get the game tix at an airport kiosk once we arrive in Brazil? I saw an email a few weeks ago mentioning this but have not seen any news since then.

No official update just yet. But rest assured they will have them. I will actually eat my tickets if they don't, literally chew them up, thats my confidence level.

    * puts disclaimer on actually eating a ticket.*

Does anyone have the run down on all the different pre-game/night-before parties?

I received the info from the Outlaws, but then also received the US Supports parties (to which you have to pre-register).

Any thoughts on the differences? Are there really going to be competing parties?

IMO this is not the time to divide the troops. Just a thought.

AO and US soccer parties will be the same thing for the night before in natal, all events in Manaus and the night before in Recife. There is no us soccer pregame for Recife. The only conflicting events are preface
Natal where us soccer is hosting a pregame party at the same place as the night before and AO is holding a party near the stadium.

I just realized that the pre-match part by US Soccer is different than the AO Party. I was going so fast I didn't even bother to read it.

One difference is that the US Soccer party starts at noon and the AO party starts at 2:30 PM. So it sounds like the thing to do is to attend the US Soccer party for awhile and then head up to the AO party.

Where is the best spot to catch the Germany Portugal game near the stadium?

Gotta say this, USSF is defintely organized this year, and full collaboration with AO. Kudos to both groups.

The official US parties are definitely more for their sponsors and more of an official corporate type setup. It will be fun, and glad they are doing this. Lets spread the word and try to get as many people at as many of the events.
