So someone in the Washington Spirit thread said that they thought Toni Pressley (center back) is the worst player in NWSL. I'd be curious to hear who everyone thinks is the worst player from each team, and then the worst player overall. Hell, I'd love to hear these stats for 2013 AND 2014! Mine to come Edit: I think I'll add to this that I mean *actual* players, not rostered players who saw no time. Edit2: Here's the full season stats from 2013; here's what we've got so far from 2014.
Maybe I should make myself clear. I mean a player that you genuinely don't want on the pitch because you think their play is detrimental to the team. A lot of people said things of this nature about Allie Long last year. I've been hearing touches of this regarding Yael Averbuch this year. I'm not saying "who's shit that they got rid of", I'm saying which player are you surprised is sustaining at this level because you think their style/play/abilities aren't meshing with the team/league/level of talent. This isn't meant as a hate fest.
I don't like this thread. It is fine to maybe call out a player for making a poor play or missing an opportunity or bad marking, or even declining skills, but pointing out the worst player in the league is counterproductive, mean-spirited and I, as a religious supporter of this league with an appreciation for what these players go through with the little money they make would feel uncomfortable pointing out a "worst" player.
I DO NOT LIKE this thread either. ANY player in the NWSL would kick your butt from here to kingdom come. You may not like their play, but have some respect.
I'm not lacking respect in any way shape or form. I've got immense respect for all of these women and for this league. I pretty much could not be working harder in my daily life to get friends to games, to raise awareness and fan support for the league, etc. Maybe I'm just making myself unclear, but I'll drop it. I don't want to start anything cruel and that was certainly not the intent her. Bowing out.
By popular request and in collaboration with the author of this thread, I'll go ahead and lock it. I'll refrain from deleting it so that others that may be tempted to start a similar topic will see that most folks do not welcome such a discussion.
