I can only go by past WC experiences, but i'll bet the cost of my tix that each main airport will have kiosks. It would be a major oversight if they didnt.
No probs with Gol, but same issue right now with Azul. Ive tried 20 times with 5 different credit cards......i cannot figure this out. Gol does have a good live chat feature, they were helpful for my cancellations.
@wixon7 - HAve you tried booking the same flight through United? They just signed a deal with Azul for code shares. Maybe (just a shot in the dark) that is a way around the barrier?
When you say you had trouble with Azul, how far did you get? We booked tickets yesterday, the confirmation page came up, but we never got a confirmation e-mail, and the credit card transaction is still "pending." Anyone else experience this?
That is farther than i got, always errored out after payment screen. I went ahead and booked thru ebookers/skyscanner. Charged my card within miliseconds.
I had serious issues with Azul last week, but I finally was able to book through a Brazilian travel site called submarino viagens. They take PayPal payments and got me a confirmation and e-ticket from Azul. I think I paid something like BR$20 more than I would have from Azul directly, but more than worth the avoided hassle.
Just a friendly suggestion I just thought of... In Brazil you must try the acai! It is so good. Get it with banana and granola in a bowl. It tastes nothing like the acai we have in the states. So good. It's the food I miss the most from when I lived there. Brazilian food in general is really good. Make sure to take advantage of being in Brazil instead of eating at McDonalds or something. haha
From a friend who lived two years in Recife: "Get the cachorro quente (hot dog) on the street-- with peas, corn, crunchy potato strips, mayo, ketchup, and parmesan cheese. Also make sure to get some pizza, it's way different than our pizza, but it's delicious. Eat coxinhas and other meat filled snacks. Go to a bakery and get pao dolce. And of course all the fruits and fruit juices, my favorite is maracuja and limao, but some unique to the area would be caju, acerola, and graviola."
Spot on with this. Don't forget pao de queijo, the acai (guys this is a MUST), acaraje (if you are in Salvador), churrasco (brazilian bbq), and brigadeiros.
since I am on the subject of food...check out this buzzfeed to get an idea what you should be eating. http://www.buzzfeed.com/gabrielakruschewsky/traditional-brazilian-foods-you-need-to-eat-right-now
