Rochester Soccer Hall-of-Fame announced: http://boxscorenews.com/rochester-rhinos-unveils-soccer-hall-of-fame-p79856-68.htm 2014 Inaugural Class Brian Bliss Arman Capan Pat Dinolfo Bernie Iacovangelo Charlie Schiano Reinhold Spath Abby Wambach I will show my ignorance. I really do not know who some of these guys are.
From today's D&C: "Rochester isn't expected to have midfielder Steve Pinau, either. A native of France, he left this week to go home due to a serious family illness. He isn't expected to return this season." Too bad, I thought he could really contribute. I hope that things turn out ok.
http://www.realsaltlake.com/news/2014/04/rsls-jordan-allen-and-benji-lopez-called-us-under-20s Jordan Allen was called up this past weekend for the U20 MNT as they played in the Dallas Cup. He played 88 min against Argentina’s Club Athletico River Plate and registered an assist. He played the last 14 min of a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. He played 64 min against Tigres in a 1-0 win.
http://www.revolutionsoccer.net/news/2014/04/revolution-loans-donnie-smith-rochester-rhinos The last Rev loaned player. According to the article, it is a short term loan. I wonder if this will be how the Revs do it. 3 long term loans, and 1 short term one.
and apparently the folks at SDA hope to place a team in the NPSL next season... @SyracuseDA your website mentions a NPSL team, but the NPSL website doesn't list you. Are you playing in 2015 instead? - 02 May SyracuseDA @SyracuseDA @msilverstein47 That's what we are shooting for!
Intersting, with the rumored NPSL teams in Rochester as well, this could act as a bridge to the Rhinos.
over the years the relationship between the USL front office and the NPSL has been pretty poor, so it will be very interesting to see how Mr. Clark handles this issue. Then again I'll only believe that SDA will field a NPSL team when I see the press release.
I would agree. I could see a PDL team if they were to act as a bridge between the youth programs and the Rhinos, but a NPSL team, that would be odd.
http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...h-star-real-salt-lake-rookie-done-for-season/ Jordan Allen is injured and will not play for the rest of the season.
2014 Rochester Rhinos Hall of Fame Class: Pat Ercoli Francisco Escos Frank Odoi Scott Schweitzer Tommy Tanner Good memories from some of those guys.
Stevenson Field can hold 3500. http://www.brownbears.com/athletics/facilities/stevenson/index From the looks of it, the Revs are not looking for a large crowd.
I am going to be in Mass and was thinking about going to the game to support a fellow lower division underdog. You guys expecting any supporters to make the trip?
Unless something comes up, I'm going. I know seating is limited so worst case scenario I don't find tickets and instead have a nice dinner in a new city. Best case scenario, I see the Rhinos whoop some behinds.
Rochester wins last night 2-0 over Dayton. Sunday evening in OKC before Wed's match in Providence, RI.
Just getting back from the Rhinos-Rev game in the USOC. Got there right after the Rev's second goal so missed most of the first half. Guessing Revs dominated the first by the 2-0 halftime score. Second half was different, Rhinos had some real nice movement up front and their goal was a beauty, header off a cross. They had some other chances as well, unfortunately couldn't capitalize. In my opinion, nice crowd, nice atmosphere, nice game, bad score
Thanks for the write-up. From what I understand, and could see on the computer, the crowd was nice for the venue, and the Rhinos really pushed for the equalizer. From where you sat, was the Red Card a red?
Yeah, both were on the ground, Rhino's guy hit the other guy - this may sound strange, but I can't remember if he kicked or elbowed him, wasn't expecting it so I had started looking elsewhere. But then out of the corner of my eye it was flaying body parts while the Rev guy was on the ground - your guy was sorta next to the other guy but also sorta on top of him because of the way they fell. Hope that helps.
