Just went to the Consulate at 300 Montgomery since it is a few blocks from my work...here are the updates: They will process World Cup Visa requests on Wednesdays from 9-11am PDT (their flyer said 9-noon, so make sure you arrive by 10:45am)...first come, first served. No appointments. 85 folks there two weeks ago, 240 last week, 325 yesterday. They were not prepared for this larger number, so are making some changes next week and they should be able to take 400-500 without much challenge Once you are at the front desk it takes about 5 minutes to process. If you find an appointment time (few exist at this time and not likely to change) then you can use it for a World Cup Visa. If you have my situation (4 in my family with tickets, my other son going to the games and we will scalp his ticket unless Apr 15 works out), then you can get him a tourist visa (costs $160) at the same time when you are at the front desk to process the World Cup Visas
I I would hope they can at least go through an agency and the agency folks can do the work on the ground in SF.
I booked a hotel months ago in Salvador and plans have changed, booking.com non-refundable but i spoke to hotel and they can transfer it to someone else. The room will sit empty. Great hotel, price, and location. Please help/consider. Send me a message for more info. June 23-25. 2 nights, 1 room, 3 beds. Hotel Catharina Paraguaçu Rio Vermelho neighborhood. (Salvador) $561 total. ($93, per bed, per night) http://www.hotelcatharinaparaguacu.com.br/index_eng.asp
What are people using to prove they are ticket holders if they are a guest, and not the primary ticket applicant?
If you mean as proof for the free visa then it's inside your ticket account which is currently locked out by FIFA when it reopens tomorrow. Highlight the printed ticket account document guest name that you've attached to the visa application
Hey guys... I've created this site which brings together the best WC fan gear from Amazon. I'll be adding more products daily between now and the WC opening. http://www.futebolfanatic.com/usa/
The NY Consulate said that they only accepted the email with the main applicant's name or the screenshot that showed the guest names and ID #s. I think now the guest names are located below the ticket info so a printout of that with the guest name highlighted should work as well.
FYI- on AO gameday events. Once finalized i'll put them in each respective game thread. Events In Brazil: 1. We are working on our Pre-Game event locations and details. Stay Tuned! 2. We are also working on Night Before parties in each of the U.S. game cities. 3. There will also be a big viewing party for the USA vs. Portugal game in Natal for all those unable to attend the game in Manuas. Details coming soon!
I just looked at the PMA ticket portal about picking up my tickets. I arrive in Manaus on the 21st and the USA-Portugal game is the 22nd. There doesn't seem to be ticket pick up in Manaus on the 21st or 22nd and they are not letting me switch to have my tickets delivered. Anyone have a solution?
I would be surprised if they don't have a kiosk at the Manaus airport... (then again, maybe i shouldnt be surprised). With that, will you be in any other Brazil airport prior to the 22nd? (connecting thru Rio or SP?) if so then you can use the FIFA Ticket kiosks there. EDIT: Here's your answer. This kiosk is open 7 days a week. And i believe they will put one in the airport as well. Manaus: FIFA Venue Ticketing Centre opening 18th April 2014 and will operate from 12:00-20:00 on the opening day Open from 18th April 2014 – 27th April 2014 during Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only From 2nd May 2014 – 7 days per week Centro Cultural dos Povos da Amazônia: Praça Francisco Pereira da Silva, s/n° CEP: 69073-270
Anyone have an update from San Francisco from today Looks like I need to go in person (from the northwest) since I have a minor child issue. How early will I need to get in line.
Have you looked into mailing your documents to Atlanta? I received an email response from them a few days ago stating that they will accept applications from people not in their district. I've also seen numerous folks on this board post that they mailed in their information to Atlanta and received a visa back within about a week. I just mailed my docs (application/photo, ticket confirmation, passport, and return envelope) today.
Travisa called saying that i needed to notarize my copy of drivers license. I swear it said only for certain states. Oh well, resending now.
I think the visa agencies are over cautious. They want more documents to reduce the chance they get rejected. Chicago consulate also said just a copy, but CIBT wanted a notarized copy.
I sent all my paperwork in for the visa but now they are saying that an email confirmation is no longer good for the visa and I now need the real ticket or the ticket certificate. Does anyone know when the tickets will be mailed out? Or how I can get a "ticket certificate", whatever that is?
I'm being told something similar, though they haven't used the word "certificate". Presumably, it's something FIFA will e-mail out, but I really didn't get the feeling the embassy guy I was talking to really knew what he was talking about.
Re: Ground transport from Natal to Recife for the game. What is the plan? Is there a chartered bus that I can buy a ticket on? Are there regular buses that leave early morning? Train (too much to hope)? Flights are non-existent so I will have to find some other way. Something tells me cab fare would be pricey... Advice or assistance will be rapturously welcome.
What are people showing as proof of ticket purchase? I am being told I have two options: show them this "certificate" confirming ticket purchase that FIFA will presumably send out by email "in April". Or show a scanned copy of the tickets themselves. I have neither of these so far. Speaking of tickets, for those who chose the delivery option, has anyone received their tickets or gotten any kind of indication that they have been sent?
I think you got this info from here, but just wanted to confirm. Do you know anything more about the ticket kiosks in the Rio/SP airports, other than the vague promise on that page of "Additional Ticket Collection locations, including some at international airports within Brazil, will be confirmed at a later date. " Thank you very much.
