Traffic always had their heads in the sand with Beckham, and now their worst nightmare is a reality. They aren't a rival. They are a doormat who plays in what locals see as a minor league. And they know it. Becks bats an eyelash and everyone in South Florida swoons. The Strikers could light themselves on fire and no one would care.

The Strikers aren't dead quite yet. Given proper management, an upgraded stadium in the right place, and a decent roster of players to be competitive, the Strikers can certainly survive as a D2 team. But having faith in Traffic to do all that....that's very difficult......

Well they have until 2017 (or maybe a bit longer) to figure it out.

Please don't yell at me, I don't want to insult you guys or your history, but what about switching to USL and being Miami's affiliate/farm team until we get pro/rel in the US? Just to survive.

Depending on the location of the stadium site, I have a feeling that a lot of Broward isnt keen on traveling down to Miami. Im sure the Strikers will still get people to come to their games. Maybe all of this hype about Beckham can draw them a few more. The hipster soccer fans who doesnt want to seem like they are purely on for the Beckham ride. Im sure there will be a few friendlies between the two clubs as Miami starts to get its footing. Traffic cant just sit back and be nonchalant about the Strikers anymore. I would love to see both clubs be successful. All we need now is a USL Pro team to set up shop in the region and SoFla will have all their bases covered in the pyramid.

What's up with the news about Strikers and Gulf Stream Park? Would they actually play at Gulf Stream? Rebrand? Or move the team?

If anyone in the Strikers organization is endorsing the idea of the Strikers moving to Hallandale, basically across the Street from Dade County, then they may as well shutter the doors and windows now. It would be suicide to actually move this team that much closer to Beckham's, while simultaneously moving it away from their core fan base into the southeasternmost corner of Broward, in a high traffic area.

Don't worry about it. The rumor is that, as ever, Traffic made an offer that could be refused by overpricing the team. Maybe a sponsorship (forget a rebrand, that would not fly with the fanbase and there will not be a new one that near M-D)? They've consistently overpriced that, too. It may be that TrafficSports USA is not run by the best and the brightest.....:(

Just wondering. Why have the Strikers not yet secured a shirt sponsor?

    No idea.

TBH: It wouldn't surprise me if they haven't even attempted to get one. Just another complaint on a long list of failures Traffic are building on themselves.

As we were told prior to this season by team management, the team feels they have not been made an offer yet for what they feel the front of the Strikers jersey is worth, so they haven't had one. They feel if thy sell it for less than what they feel it is worth it would be bad business. You can form whatever opinion you like about that line of thinking. Most fans who heard it seemed to disagree with the premise.

Yeah, I can understand the point but if they have overvalued that sponsorship no one will buy. Would they rather have some money or no money.I would hope that they have been in contact with other clubs in the league to see what they are getting rather than basing it on what MLS clubs get. Or maybe they want what ManU is getting from Aon. ;)

Is a business decision. That is why you see some la liga teams with out a shirt sponsor. The fire had no sponsor for 1 year after best buy.

There are plenty of things wrong with the Strikers to fret over before you get to lacking a shirt sponsor.

Attedance drop off should be their biggest concern right now.

    This.

When is the point where we should start to worry about all of this?
