I thought it would be good to consolidate all the various articles, news pieces, and other media links in one thread. What got me thinking of this was I just went on www.sacbee.com and they have a header up now about the team. There is a section where they've consolidated SRFC stuff (as well as other soccer?): http://www.sacbee.com/soccer/ but it's buried in the sports section (which has traditionally ignored soccer all together). I can't figure out how you're supposed to get there unless you know the address. Unlike many other sports, some local and some not so, the team has yet to have it's own link in the sports section. I would hope that changes soon.
Okay, so a USL press release is not exactly "the media" but since the Bee is still barely covering the Republic, here you go: Galaxy II Welcome Newcomer Republic http://uslpro.uslsoccer.com/home/797841.html

I would just like to say.. On Wednesday after starting this thread, I emailed SacBee sports editors and Marcos Breton, suggesting(complaining) about the lack of soccer coverage or a subsection for our new team. I received a response saying "wait for Friday morning". Low and behold, not only these articles, but if you go to the Sports section on SacBee.com, you will now find a "Soccer" tab. You're welcome, Sacramento.

Preki, Braun have homecoming of sorts against Chivas USA today... http://www.sacbee.com/2014/04/07/6301138/republics-preki-braun-will-have.html Like how the url refers to Republic as "republics." I guess they'll learn one of these days.
That one isn't their fault. The possessive apostrophe in the title was stripped automatically to create the web address. The comma was removed by the same process.
I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but that's some creative marketing ... Are you planning on getting #RepublicFC inspired tattoo? If so, contact us at: goal@sacrepublicfc.com. You may be able to get one for FREE.— Sacramento Republic FC (@SacRepublicFC) April 14, 2014
The team announced today that KHTK 1140 am will be broadcasting games and be an official partner. This is huge. Will mean more exposure in the community, and you can listen in when you can't be there in person or connected to YouTube. I also get great satisfaction in knowing self-admitted soccer haters like Grant Napear, Keith "Vanilla Ice Deuche Bag" Brooks, and the throngs of similar-minded sports jock listeners will have to swallow their pride and take it.
Sac Bee stories on the Tower Bridge Battalion... http://www.sacbee.com/2014/04/23/6344863/tower-bridge-battalion-ready-for.html and on expected attendance for home opener... http://www.sacbee.com/2014/04/22/6344097/republic-fc-takes-aim-at-usl-pro.html "...based on the number of tickets already sold, according to team officials who expect between 15,000 and 20,000 fans to attend." That's awesome!

Local radio personality (and one of the main figures in rallying the city to support/save the Kings) Carmichael Dave will be calling the games over the radio. He's a self-proclaimed Man United fan and loves the sport, which is really uncommon as far as radio sports jocks are concerned. I think this is a FANTASTIC move. This guy helped galvanize Sacramento to keep the Kings, he was running radio shows out of his garage after he got fired from KHTK (because he was too critical of the Maloofs and didn't hold back over the air). Funny how that's come full circle. For anyone not familiar with him, he's probably the one guy who Republic FC can put out there and have all of the soccer haters/skeptics be intrigued, if not think twice about the team. This is great. People flipping on the radio Saturday night might keep flipping if they hear a soccer game on, but if it's Carmichael Dave over the mic, a lot of people are going to keep it tuned in.

Record Crowds Have Sacramento Republic Rethinking Bonney Field Capacity http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2014...to-republic-rethinking-bonney-field-capacity/
Not going to happen this season. Heard it would require a contract renegotiation/revision (remember how long the first one took?), and a re-engineer of the stands.
Latest media coverage. Concentrates on the web stream, which I agree is quite professional. Maybe we should loan a tech to the 'Quakes, since they cant seem to get their streaming done. http://www.sacbee.com/2014/06/26/6516179/republic-fc-brings-win-to-fans.html
yeah, about that, does that monorail run right behind the stands? And if so, how will they expand that side of the stadium? Will they move the monorail? Will they build around it, maybe having it stop inside the stadium concourse, or something?
There's a good thirty feet from the back of the stands to the monorail. Plenty of room for expansion. The back concourse is on both sides of the monorail track. The track is elevated, up about 20 ft off the ground
