It's official, Tom Trybull transfers to FC St. Pauli. *Sigh*... a shame considering the greater ceiling he had compared to Bargfrede and even the injured Kroos IMO. Even with the depth charts a bit thin, Dutt still doesn't see Trybull as part of the team's immediate future and/or perfers Ignjovski instead. On the other hand, with steady playing time and confidence growth this could be the best for Trybull's development right now. Florian Trinks is having a solid season so far with Fuerth.
At least rumors say Eichin negotiated well and Werder will participate if St. Pauli sells Trybull. He is a good talent, all the best for him at St. Pauli.
Hey, our first transfers are fixed: In summer Fin Bartels (26, FC St. Pauli) will join us as a free transfer and signs a 3 years contract. He is an experienced 2. BL offensive midfielder (6 goals, 5 assists in 19 matches), that had as a young player a spell for the german U21 NT and played some BL matches, but could not convince at that time in Germanies elite league. I think it is a no-risk transfer and I hope he makes the step this time, so welcome at Werder. http://www.werder.de/de/profis/news/48018.php Kicker newspaper reports about this confirmed deal and also states that Spanish CB Alejandro Galvez will join Werder in summer as a free transfer from Rayo Vallecano, while Sevilla and Werder negotiate about signing Diego Perotti. Werder wants to loan the player now with a buying option in summer and the critical point is a buying fee fair for both sides. The newspaper also reports about a possible exit of Ekici to one of Instanbuls giants. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...ringer-perotti---bartels-kommt-im-sommer.html
After a real signing some more rumors: French newspaper L'Equipe refreshes rumors about Obraniak and reports he would travel to Bremen to do a medical check and sign a contract if the test runs well. Kicker reports in the upper mentioned article about an interest as well and quotes Eichin: "I know him (Obraniak), he is an interesting player."
Obraniaks agent confirmed negotiations with Werder are in an advantage stage and he is confident that the deal will be completed tomorrow.
The deal is done. Obraniak signs a contract until 2016 and will presented at a press conference in one hour. http://www.werder.de/de/profis/news/48056.php
The Obraniak move should close Werders winter transfer activities since the DFL transfer list closed at 12:00 CET and neither one of our players nor players we are connected with were listed. --- Confirmed Transfers joining Werder: Ludovic Obraniak (29, CAM/LFL/RFL Girondins Bordeaux) [2 million €, rumor, L'Equipe] Julian Van Haake (19, CDM/CM Werder II) [free transfer] Martin Kobylanski (19, CF Werder II) [free transfer] Confirmed Transfers leaving Werder: Tim Trybull (20, CDM/CM St.Pauli) [100k €] --- Transfers (summer 2014): Confirmed: Fin Bartels (26, ST/LFL/RFL St.Pauli) [free transfer] Almost confirmed: Alejandro Galves (24, CB Rayo Vallecano) [free transfer, not made public because Rayo concentrates on fight vs. relegation) Returning from loans in summer: Joseph Akpala (26, ST, Karabükspor) Niklas Füllkrug (20, CF/LFL/RFL, Greuther Fürth) Johannes Wurtz (21, ST/DW/CAM Paderborn) --- Contracts ending in summer 2014: Sebastian Mielitz (24, GK) Richard Strebinger (20, GK) Santiago Garcia (25, LB on loan from Talca, buying option 1,5 million €) Cimo Röcker (20, LB) Clemens Fritz (33, RB, has an option to extend his contract for a further year) Aleksandar Ignjovski (23, DCM) Aleksandar Stevanovic (23, DMC) Aaron Hunt (27, CAM/LM/ST) Predrag Stevanovic (22, CAM) --- With the transfers done this winter Werder lays a focus on good wing players. That makes sense if Dutt wants to let the tem play 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-2-1. With the Obraniak transfer Werder has a player who can play Hunts position if he decides to leave and a creative player he can interact with if he decides to stay, while Bartels is a real winger. Sadly none of the bench warmers without first 11 ambitions could be sold. I have still hope that Ekici could leave (transfer window in Turkey closes later), but he already stated to keep sitting on his contract.
Club is actively scouting a replacement at rightback now that Ignovski has declined the contract extension. Reports that Werder has been observing Udinese's Silvan Widmer. The Swiss U21 player who's natural position is RB, but has mainly played in the RM/LM due to Udinese's 3-5-2 formation.
Ignjovki is connected with Frankfurt and Augsburg. According to the Weserkurier (newspaper from Bremen) Werder and the placer came financially to an agreement, but Ignjovki demanded a better role in the team hierarchy and wants to play DM instead of RB. And that could lead to a change. Well, I always liked Iggy, he has good fighting spirit, but Werder has tons of defensive midfielders (no real class players, but on Iggys level).
That's a shame. Iggy has been effective this season playing RB, with his speed running on the flanks and aggressive tackling. Though Frankfurt makes sense considering Rode is on his way out and they need a replacement DM. Julian Von Haacke & Lukas Fröde are good prospects as future DMs for us. Fröde likely needs more time with the U23s but I'd like to see JVH and Zander given a chance next season.
JL Zander must at first manage to start for the reserve. Marnon Busch (19) is back from injury and Skripnik rotates between both players. Both are promising, hopefully at least one of both can step up within the next few season permanently into the first team.
Luca-Milan Zander extended his contract for 3 years. Up to 2015 he stays "contract player?" (Vertragsspieler), then his status will change to professional. http://www.werder.de/de/profis/news/48920.php
Iggys transfer to Frankfurt is confirmed. I am a bit sad about his departure because he is a fighter. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/..._perfekt_ignjovski--kommt-nach-frankfurt.html
Eichin has expressed the club's interest to take up Santiago Garcia's buying option and keep him here at Werder. Working on negotiating a lower transfer fee than the original stated amount of around 1.5 mio. Excellent news for Zander, a local lad too. Congrats on the contract!
Read on Transfermarkt that according to an Italian source Werder are meeting with representatives of Leonardo Pavoletti on Monday. The 25 y/o striker currently plays for AS Varese in Serie B on loan from Sassuolo. He has 16 goals in 28 games in the 2nd division. Said to be available free transfer. Basel reported as interested also. Source is a bit vague and transfermarkt still ranks rumour to be low. Its a low financial risk potential move but not sure of his quality considering his age and playing second div. We also have our strikers returning from loan and youngsters.
3 year contract extension for Richard Strebinger, who is set to become our #2 keeper. Strong form with the reserves since returning from injuries. Sebastian Mielitz's expiring contract won't be renewed and he will be departing this summer. A player who's been with Werder for 9 years, since he was 15. He's grown up with and be part of the club.Through the good times and bad, he'll be missed. Wish Miele success in the future.
Johannes Wurtz will officially be transferring to Greuther Fürth this summer, signing a 3 yr contract with a buy back option for us. It's a good opportunity for him to potentially play in the Bundesliga next season. Fürth in good position for promotion right now sitting 2nd with 4 games remaining. They do face 3rd spot Paderborn this weekend so that's a key match up.
Weser-Kurier (biggest newspaper in the Bremen area) reports Mateo Pavlovic should leave Werder in summer. The 23 years old CB is currently on loan in Budapest and shows good performances in the Hungarian league. The rumor makes sense, Mateo is based on what he offered at Werder not yet ready for BL level, but can further develop with sufficient match practice. Furthermoe he turns 24 next season and would block one of 3 over 23 spots at our U23 (current over 23 players at Werder II are Wegner (25), substitute keeper Duffner (30) and captain Bruns (34)).
