I'd give Jamal the 6th man of the year (I know how it sounds), but I won't be mad if Gibson gets it.

MIP for Dragic...hm.. I don't know. The dude hasn't improved that much to be honest. Gerald Green though was out of the league and is now playing like an above average player.

The rest I'm fine with. Thibs is fourth maybe third in COY for me. I have Pop and Hornacek before him, though he's close with Carlisle.

The thing that does bother me though is the Bulls winning these types of awards. I'm not trying to take anything away from what they have done this season, but if they were in the West they wouldn't be in the playoffs. So giving DPOY and 6th man to the Bulls seems kinda odd. But these are individual awards and the team ranking shouldn't play part in it.

You need to keep in mind this Bulls team without Rose and Deng was suppose to be a lottery team.

Green had a similar season in 2011-12 with Brooklyn, then went to Indiana and struggled, and then found his Brooklyn form in Phoenix.

Thats a good point. The Bulls being a very good team also ways heavily in a good way.

With that said, then Maybe Goran Dragic is hands down most improved player.

Right but I'm also taking into consideration where the Bulls were projected to be this season (a top 3 team). Sadly it has turned out the way it has. But what I'm trying to say is it would be better to reward teams like Phonenix (who were said to be dead last) and have come out with a record equal to the Bulls.

Also the Dallas Mavericks weren't supposed to see the playoffs this year.

Is it crazy to consider Blake for MIP? No way he gets it, but it would make sense.

So imagine how good the Bulls would have been if they had Rose and Deng. Projections in the pre-season did not take into account Rose tearing his meniscus and Deng being traded for cap relief. They would have been projected in the tank race.

They didn't and you make a point. Still I think for the most part Phoenix has done a better job, than the Bulls and I think Chicago did very good, with what they have. I'm still sure that Chicago would've been higher up than the Suns in the offseason projections (without Rose and Deng).

I would have no problem with Phoenix getting COY, but they aren't making the playoffs, regardless of conference. Think that hurts more than anything.

The players aren't the only ones running on empty - it's expensive for the fans to go to the finals every year.

I disagree - if the Pacers had lost it their morale would have totally been wrecked. If it's game 7 in Indiana in the ECFs, it could mean a heck of a lot.

tomorrow vital day to determine matchups.Looks like brooklyn want to avoid bulls, and scared of them. They want raptors, I think raptors can take them in 7.

    Indiana - Hawks
    Miami - Charlotte or washington
    toronto - brooklyn or washington
    chicago - washington or brooklyn

Nets don't want Bulls and Bulls fans don't want Nets. Perfect day for Bulls fans tomorrow:

Bulls win/Raptors win or Bulls lose
    Wizards win
    Nets lose

    Make it happen basketball gods.

It's interesting how the Heat dropped to 2nd spot just to avoid Nets/Bulls.

Nets and Bulls have spanked the Heat this season.

But we've seen the story before. Bulls spank Hear in the regular season, Heat spank Bulls in playoffs. We'll see with the Nets but my guess is that we could see the same.

Damn you and your East Coast Biases. ;)

In the West 2, 3, 7, and 8 still up for grabs. Grizz and Mavs are playing tonight directly for 7 and 8. Clippers can still grab 2 if OKC can't beat Detroit tonight at home (Thunder are on a two game losing streak) and the Clippers manage to beat Portland on the road.

The Clippers will be without Griffin and Redick. I doubt they get to number two, but the ideal scenario would be if they win, OKC lost and Dallas won, so the Clippers match up with Dallas. But I seriously doubt that will happen.

Lovely. I got my dream matchup's in the West and I get to see the Bulls against Indiana. The thing I also like, is that Miami basically have a cake walk to the Finals. If they can rest their players, the possible matchup with Indiana will be nuts.

Also be sure to keep an eye on Memphis:OKC.

Dirk versus Tim. Oh lord. :barefoot:

whats wrong? You dont believe in doc rivers being some great coach? If he is at least conference finals should happen.
Del Negro made semifinals 2 years ago, is del negro good coach?

Okay I'll make this point clear once and for all. Rivers is arguably a top 5 coach in the game, the best one the Clippers could get the past summer. You can not compare Doc's first year with this team and Del Negro's second. VDN was actually containing Griffin from playing his game, just to please Paul and Billups. There's a podcast with Arash Markazi, who put's some insight on the matter. The fact that he could not handle his team is enough for me to determine, that he is not a good coach. Maybe for a team that is rebuilding yes, but for a team that wants to win a championship, no.

VDN did make the semifinals, but at what cost? Both Griffin and Paul were injured and they got swept by the San Antonio. See there's the difference. Hollins, who was the coach of Memphis, was tactically as inept as VDN. When either of those got up against Pop, their teams got swept very easily. That's why both are out of a job, despite reaching the semifinals (or Finals).

Rivers himself said that it's championship or bust, but I don't believe it and neither do any of the reporters that are daily associated with the Clippers. The bar in my opinion is set in the 2nd round. They will match up with OKC (if the Clippers and OKC go past their first round rivals), the team with MVP. If they take that team to a seven game series and lose out on the end, I really won't consider that a failure. The further they go, the better, but realistically a WCF appearances is probably the best thing they can pull out of these playoffs.

Now if you want to tell me how VDN is a good coach or how Doc isn't one be my guest. I'd love to hear your arguments.

And that isn't even the point I was trying to make. You call Rivers a quitter, while applaud James for doing the exact same thing. Now please enlighten me how it isn't the same thing.
