Monday (today!) at 11:00 AM Pacific Sacramento Republic FC at Chivas USA Reserves Live video (supposedly) available here: http://uslpro.uslsoccer.com/schedules/index_E.html Hit the "play" button over on the right.
Only result so far for Chivas reserves is 0-2 at Dallas Reserves. As miserable as Chivas has looked the past few years I'm hoping that their squad has little depth so I'm looking for a competitive game.
1-0 good guys. Chivas keeper seemed to just drop the ball on in front of Fucito who put it in. Ugly, but take it!
I can't really claim to be watching, but I have had it on in the background without sound. I did, however, manage to glance over at exactly the right times to see all the goals.
Yes, even though Chivas Reserves are not an official USL side, the game does count in the USL standings.
Based on my understanding, games against MLS reserve teams do count in the standings. Reserve teams however are not included in the standings and therefore not eligible for playoffs. So yes, this would be considered a league game.
It is rather weird that reserves count towards records but not in actual league standings. As the reserves have nothing to play for but pride/themselves.. Or, do these games count for the MLS reserve league standings? This is a weird transition year. Next year things will be more clear.
"I don't know if this is a good time to ask, but would it be possible for me to get my briefcase back?"
Nice job getting the win! So far I've only seen that beautiful chip goal in extra time. Wish our youtube could post highlights of the gams if we ever miss them. Can't wait to get back to weekend games though.
Ask and you shall receive: Fucito... He had a ton of chances, he should have walked away with a hat trick if his finishing was better. Looked good otherwise, real speedy and making their defenders work hard, had an assist. Too bad he didn't put another one or two of those shots on frame past the keeper.
Game stats from the USL website are pretty thin. I guess Chivas does not care to report anything beyond goals scored. http://www.uslsoccer.com/scripts/runisa.dll?M2:gp::72013+Elements/Display+E+47107+Stats/+4428806 Our starting lineup was the same as last week, as was the bench with the exception of Cristin Gonzalez in place of Bryan Gallego. Dakota Collins was subbed in this week instead of Aaron Long, so neither of the PT loanees (except for Gleeson) saw action.
