Watched the SJ highlights and laughed so hard when Bernardez gave an OG and it looks like the new guys for San Jose are only a slight improvement because these still blamed all the problems on the weather. lol
Anyone else feel old seeing John Wolyniec coaching the NY Red Bulls reserves and being completely grey haired?
completely grey-haired and scoring at the RioT him and that flying Dutchman ********ing killed us when the RioT was first opening
I'm going to assume you are referring to the PK call for RSL and if so, it was because it wasn't for the new MLS darling, Toronto. Of course, if it had been for Toronto, Borg would be calling for a multiple game suspension for the transgressor along with permanent banning from MLS for his infraction.
This discussion really should be in the TFC game thread. However, I don't think Borg is being stupid here. He's saying that Sabo and Henry were fouling each other before Henry threw him down and that a foul could have been called before they got into the box. He also gives Sabo credit for the veteran play, and faults neither Sabo nor the refs for how it went down.
I thought he was only graying back in the day. Maybe I'm so old that my memory is going as well. He certainly looks much older minus the hair color discussion.
I figure this is as good a place as any to share this story. Dinamo Kiev was playing their rival when their forward collided with the keeper. He went unconscious as soon as they collided. The defender noticed this, and immediately set about removing whatever might be blocking the forward's airway (you can see him quickly start to work before the camera cuts away). The defender saved the forward's life by acting so fast. Pretty cool to see the human/compassionate side between players during a rivalry game. Just goes to show that the players understand it is only a game. http://cnnespanol.cnn.com/2014/03/3...va-la-vida-de-un-oponente-durante-un-partido/ (I can't get the video to embed from my phone, so you'll have to go to the article.)
Thought for the day: Is Simon Borg trying to fool us with a year-round April Fool's joke? If so, is today opposite day and anything he posts today legit?

I'm going to do us all a favor and NOT post the infamous SI 2002 pre-world cup photos with Pablow striking the ultimate mind scarring pose. Shit's seared into my memory, forever, not even a frontal lobotomy could get rid of that shit.
Required reading: http://grantland.com/features/usmnt-new-york-s-magazine-greatest-photo-shoot-history/ It's the story of "how the most amazing photo shoot in the history of U.S. soccer came blazing — literally blazing, like a Mack truck filled with dragons and pushed off the top of Mount Rushmore — into existence."
