It has now been confirmed that Theo Walcott is out of the WC with injury http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25631561 And of course the players whos country didnt qualify as well like Ibrahimovic, Bale, Ramsey, Hamsik, Levandowski etc http://www.givemesport.com/403174-world-cup-2014-missing-xi
Falcao could be added to the list. That will be devastating for not only Colombia, but the World Cup as well. He is a huge talent that I believe would shine in Brazil. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ao-suffers-potentially-injury-French-Cup.html
Costa Rica player Bryan Oviedo broke his leg in 2 parts so dont know if he will make it to the WC http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25934933
Well from Chile so far (knock on wood) no one is injured. Australia has their star injured, which now drops their chances even more. I would love to classify with Australia ehehhe, but Australia gets Brazil second round.
KUN injured??? http://canchallena.lanacion.com.ar/1659469-manchester-city-tottenham-sergio-aguero-premier-league
Doubtful that it's anything serious. Hamstring injuries are pretty common and it'll most likely take 2 to 3 weeks of recovery, at most 2 months in the worst of cases.
http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...o-55-chance-making-world-cup-colombia?cc=5901 Still way too early to make an accurate assessment either way but 55% is better then 0 %.
Lacine Traore may be out of the World Cup depending on his recovery and on whether the coach will take a half-fit player: http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/tran...t-to-make-call-on-traores-future?ICID=HP_BN_1
And them compared to Falcao is a joke. So either this thread is about high profile players on high profile teams or it's about players that would have made their national team. You put a nobody like Vela or Oviedo in this thread then to me its open to any NT player who is set to miss the World Cup. Oviedo was on Copenhagen and now on *drumroll* mighty Everton. Vela plays for Sociedade not exactly top of anything.
Does Januzaj belong in here? Arguably he's a high profile player on a high profile team ... at least if you feel his current club demands that kind of respect.
Sorry that I didn't explain my point, but when the thread op says top players I think he means in terms of the National team. Looking at all the Nigerian Forwards in Europe (and even the Nigerian League) no one can say with a straight face that Dike (who is not even a regular for Toronto Fc) is a top player. Are you sure you've been paying attention to what Vela has done this season in La Liga? Dude is the best performing Mexican player in Europe this season. The same Real Sociedad that was on top of Barcelona just last week? The same Everton that are 6th in the PL?
