Do you guys think that Haraguchi should be given a try in the Japan NT friendly. How did he performed at the EAFF?
Usami is a J2 player, it is tough to tell how good will he be in J1 next year. And do you think Haraguchi should be given a chance? How did he performed at EAFF?
How do you guys think of him as a player? You guys think he deserve a chance on a friendly to test himself? And I don't think there is any use for Usami, the ACM position is as stacked as it is now. Haraguchi is a little different from the players in JNT with his playing style.
Usami, ACM ? He's playing with another forward in Gamba but was a winger usually (Toulon, Olympics, etc)
He is a wide forward, I suggested trying out Haraguchi as Haraguchi is pretty decent when it comes to his defensive contribution.
Usami's scoring ability is more intriguing. No reason he can't blow up like Hulk or Kagawa coming from J2.
How good is Usami in terms of defensive contributions anyway? Is he good at tracking back and tackling?
no neither is Genki. They can both do it Genki perhaps a bit better but none of them is anything special in that area. If you are looking for such offensive players search in the likes of Sagan Tosu's striker. Hack I would say even Kakitani does it better
Usami doesn't really do anything off the ball, but you tend to be lenient when the dude scores a goal per game, duh. Tracking back is more coachable than scoring goals at will. If you want your attackers to chase around the other team like a rabid dog you can just throw Okazaki and Toyoda out there. Whatever, throw Nagai on there while you're at it.
Kakitani is good at tackling? Don't seem so. Okazaki is having his current role at the JNT because of his defensive qualities and workrate, if not then Kakitani would have replaced Okazaki already and Osako can play as the CF.
its kind of his job, his workrate is impressive. But he is an inner striker, anyway this entire talk started with Haraguchi's great defensive work or something. I agree that he helps in defense, but I'll just leave it at that
What are your thoughts on Haraguchi as a player then? I think he offers something different than all the wide forward/ACMs that Japan currently has. Usami no doubt has more potential but he is more similar to them than someone like Haraguchi.
Haraguchi is a really good football player but unfortunately Japan has plenty of talented offensive midfielders Kiyotake, Honda, Kagawa, Inui, Usami, Okazaki. That makes it 6 which is enough for NT. All those I rate above Haraguchi for now. But he is right behind them together with Hiroki Yamada and Saito, Kawaguchi in my opinion. Naturally some are more wingers, more playmakers, better vision, better on the ball, better shot from distance, dribbling etc. Depends what you need. Haraguchi would need to be more consistant stronger and more mature to reach the next level imo. Usami imo is better atm and deserves spot in JNT more
You are basing it on his J2 performance? Don't you think he is a bit similar to the 6 of them with the exception of Inui who in my opinion is the only one out the 6 who can play well as a out-and-out winger? And what do you think are Haraguchi's weaknesses?
