Not sure whether the weather played an issue but if I compare today's end of season tailgate compared to the one 2 years ago it kind of sucked..... We had more people, more costumes and a better camaraderie. I love the beer these days and the food is not too bad. The band was also good fun today. But why don't more folks come? I think it may be the windy location. The one we had 2 yrs ago was much better.

Ive been to one or two tailgates this year, and they arent bad, but the reason my group doesnt go anymore is we like doing our own tailgate thing without having to rely on someone else. the first one we went to we ended up standing in line for 15 minutes everytime we needed a beer, so we just consensus decided to do it on our own. I went to alot more last year because the location was closer to my car, so we could supplement tailgate, and wasnt totally relient on one. im weird like that though, i even took my own beer for the away trip to dc

True, that was in the summer and also almost made me leave. Now that there were less people it took me less than a minute to get a beer. Thinking back 2 years ago (when we poured beer ourselves and had like 5 kegs) we never had much of a wait. An improvement could be that someone pours beer non-stop at each tap; taking someones order, checking ID and then walking back to pour just takes too long.

Also had an issue with the food; all the good stuff had run out by the time we came at 1 pm....
But made me try the veggie burger which turned out to be really really good!

I'm sure @FatherOfBen will direct your concerns to the appropriate folks.

i dont really have any concerns. when it comes to tailgating, i just dont like to leave it to anyone else. plus, it gives me something to do/plan in between gamedays.

Weather was definitely an issue this season especially in March/April and its a whole new location and logistics that need to be figured out. We also had a much larger space so even with 200 (avg) signups for each event it did seem people spread out a lot.
The costumes party was optional and if people dont want to participate thats not on tailgates.
Beer lines are frustrating at times I agree but its what we are able to provide and who can argue with free beer in unlimited quantity?
Food was def different this season and a lot of new ideas were thrown out there but you cant expect to come to a tailgate 2hrs into it and expect the ful menu to be there. Its not a restaurant. Supplies are purchased the day of and some have to be ordered prior to the event at the best estimations we can make. We certainly try to get as much as we can for everyone and offer options but its a first come first served basis. If on Saturday everyone decides they want a turkey burger... then theyre going to go first.
We certainly hope there is more participation in 2014's season & welcome everyone to come out and be a part of the tailgates. If you have suggestions/ideas contact @SoBTailgates or their facebook page Sons of Ben Tailgates & Roadtrips

im not saying it wasnt good for what it is, im just saying id rather have my own unlimited everything without having to stand in line for anything. Im past the stage in life where ill just eat/drink whatever is available and free. I like to make sure i have what we like, and plenty of it at tailgate time.

This is the exact reason why I no longer attend SOB tailgates.

prime example- i brought my own cooler of beer for the away DCU game in october because i was skeptical of the beer situation. Thank god i did, because the "free kegs" were luke warm and partially flat. no offense to the good people who donated the kegs, but im not a 20 year old college kid anymore

Agree, the beer situation at DC was a bit disappointing. They should have been refrigerated on the buses. Im not a fan of super super hoppy beers like they brought but for a beer to be something I don't particularly care for AND piss warm, ill pass.

Thankfully I had my trusty flask with me...

What is being done this year to prevent food from running out too early?

Also, will we have tunes now that Travis is in CA?
