Not a big hurry right now and you know how tempting a short path to the NT can be. Gotta keep those options open...
The U20 cycle just started and Jamaica is presumably in total rebuild mode right now -- they made the Hex, yes, but they might as well have not been there. Don't see much need for urgency on his part right now.
Beitashour starts the away game today. http://espnfc.com/us/en/gamecast/statistics/id/364938/statistics.html?soccernet=true&cc=5901
Soony Saad started for Lebanon today against Kuwait: http://espnfc.com/us/en/gamecast/statistics/id/364937/statistics.html?soccernet=true&cc=5901
The 0-0 at Kuwait seems like a good result for them. Next game for Lebanon is next Tuesday vs Iran. Soony - Beita(max), a match-up oddly reminiscent of 80s videotapes.
Also of the San Jose-Kansas City game on August 18th. http://espnfc.com/us/en/gamecast/359520/gamecast.html?soccernet=true&cc=5901
Bright Dike started in today's friendly for Nigeria vs. Italy. Rossi started as well (and scored in the 12th minute).
However, I believe Dike was an unused sub in the match that clinched Brazil for Nigeria (against Ethiopia last week).
And Dike scores in the 35th for his first international goal. BOTH goals so far today brought to you by the USA.
Guam's full squad list is below. In addition to DeLaGarza, I believe that Ustruck, Herrick, and Guy have all been on MLS rosters. Jason Cunliffe, Ian Mariano, Dylan Naputi, Mark Chargualaf, Scott Leon Guerrero, Doug Herrick, Erik Ustruck, Jonahan Romero, Micah Paulino, Shawn Nicklaw, John Matkin, Travis Nicklaw, Joshua Borja, Bijan Gloston, Ian Adamos, A.J. DeLaGarza and Ryan Guy. http://www.guampdn.com/article/20131118/SPORTS/311180013/
I saw some post on Twitter saying the US has the most potential players playing for other teams in the WC (8). I can't find it now, but it listed Costa Rica as one of the potential teams - which Yank plays for Costa Rica? I think the other 7 were Honduras, Nigeria, Italy, Iran, Mexico, Bosnia, and someone else (USA?)
I saw that tweet. He was referring to people raised in the US, so I assume he is talking about Rodney Wallace.
