Saw you guys didn't have one. Thought I'd make it unless you guys talk about this elsewhere.

    Thanks.

And yeah I'm not surprised we bought a GK.

Giefer's not the best you've been linked to but he'll be a nice upgrade.

Secure Sam, make the aogo deal permanent, and find a CM and your roster will be much better for whomever replaces Keller to work with.

I'm not sure if the transfers change much. Giefer isn't all that much better than Fährmann. Hildebrand will be gone anyway. Sam looks like a very good signing but he just adds depth to positions where we have decent enough players anyway. He may be insurance for a transfer of Draxler but in that case the team doesn't get better, at least not much.
Signing Aogo would be good but he is already part of the team although injured. If you count him as an upgrade, you should also add Höger, and, probably, Huntelaar and Papadopoulus who should all be able to play again on a high level next summer.

Adding a high quality DM/CM is the most important job besides finding a good coach. Everything else looks more like lateral moves which isn't all that bad considering the overall quality of the squad.

I agree. Replacing Jones with a legitimate upgrade should be number one. Alternatively, I wonder if that replacement could be Boateng and we purchase a CAM upgrade instead.

Also, I wonder if Chelsea is willing to loan De Bruyne for 6 months with a buy option at the end. With that loan, we could give Boateng a run at CM next to Jones or Neu.

I wouldn't even consider Boateng as an option of the 6 as long as his knee isn't permanently stabilized, which looks like never. You can't expect the workrate out of him necessary for that position if he can't practice with the team regularly.

De Bruyne would be great but I can't see us getting him if Wolfsburg is serious about him. We would need either CL money or sell Draxler to be able to afford him in summer.

Boateng needs surgery, right? Or is that Jones?

What if we just loan him. I mean we could still have the buy option. If we sell Draxler, then we purchase.

I've seen you guys linked with Rubin's 25yearold Israeli international Bibras Natkho. He'd be a good solution to your hole in midfield.

Jones needs surgery. The NT doctors sent him home a couple of weeks ago with instructions to get the surgery as soon as possible. Of course the adivce has been ignored. I don't really care at this point because Jones will be gone after this season and we need him now with all the other injuries. I would be angry if he were staying longer with the club.

I'm not sure if surgery can help Boateng. He always has had knee troubles after he had a rupture of his cruciate ligament early in his career.

Yes, a loan with a buy option would be nice for Schalke but why would Chelsea and de Bruyne agree to it? We would have to outbid Wolfsburg and any other interested party.

I don't know Nathko. I read some things about him after the rumour came up. He sounds interesting, looks more like an 8 than a pure defensive midfielder which does imo fit our needs. Of course there is no way for me to judge if he is good enough for us. At least he would be a free transfer as his contract runs out at the end of the year (yes, year not season).

Yeah, I heard his contract is up soon, a leftover from when the RPL ran spring to fall.

I know he was seeing a specialist at one point in November. I thought this had improved his condition.

I thought that was more of a long term project.

Well in that case, the winter break can't come sooner.

It indeed can't. What a crappy half season if you remember how well everything looked in the summer.

Would you sell this for less than 45 Million Euros?

I don't think we will sell him this winter. Maybe in half a year but we should then get the full 45m.

Btw looks like Jones will go to Besiktas

I tend to agree, but I wouldn't be incredibly surprised if he does go now.

On another note, I was reading something last night that said the Arsenal technical staff view Julian as a striker, and that they thought he'd be the next Van Persie. If that's true, it would be pretty good for the national team. If he does go to the EPL, I hope it's with Arsenal.

Guess nobody would be really surprised if all these rumours about Draxler come true in the end. I'm not sure how I would react if I were in Heldt's position. I definitely wouldn't accept a transfer in the last minute without securing a proper replacement for our second half of the season. ******** Arsenal if they don't come forward with their interest until the last minute.
The offers for Draxler will come in again in summer unless he has a really catastrophic injury which of course could happen (see Papa or Gündogan).

After watching today's press conference I think Heldt might sign a player once everything is finished with Jones. Can't say anything about Draxler although he denied any talks at all.

I think we sign Holtby now. His transfer fee is only 6 million euros (right?), and his wages are less than those of Jones.
