Folks, please plan on being there. We had a great turnout today for EPL games, but need to keep the momentum going to show OKC is a soccer town. The more of us there are, the louder our voice will be.

I appreciate your position Laramie. I, however, will NOT support the USL team. I have my own reasons. I will support OKC FC in the NPSL this coming year, and then support the NASL team in 2015.
People are free to do whatever they want (Murica!). I just do NOT want to support the USL effort in any way whatsoever.

I respect your feeling as well and I do understand why.

The Funks just have quite figured it out, the question remains--will they ever?

Please keep us informed on the next NPSL and NASL Oklahoma City upcoming functions, Manu.

I can't find it now, but there was a post somewhere from a guy who said he called to buy USL season tickets and ended up getting asked if he wanted to lead a supporters group.

I post alot about them BECAUSE I don't like them. I try to put out as much information as I can so that people who dont know any better won't think that USL and NASL are the same thing essentially. So far this off season USL Pro has had two teams fold and one team be taken away from its owner due to insolvency, basically

Most of us can read we know what's going on all I'm saying is is that it's hipocritical to jump on someone for not staying on topic when the people who jump don't stay on topic

my oppinion I feel the NASL is the better league although I have concerns that the commisioner is either dilusional or an egotistical maniac to think that any of the teams in his league are going to choose to stay in the NASL over going to the MLS is crazy I was actually leading towards this league until I read these comments I'm worried that the NASL might try to block teams from moving to MLS much like the USL tried when they found out about the NASL wanting in OKC and from a business stand point giving the affiliation agreement the oportunity the Energy will have to build a relationship with the MLS that it's not the better choice ultimatly the goal is to get a MLS team in OKC we need to look at the big picture and figure out which vehicle gets us to our final destinationand even though the USL PRO may be a crap league (no one is denying that) but the NASL is'n't that great of a league they are both big gambles they have both lost teams in thier recent past thats the truth I just don't think that we should the afiliation agreement and the possibility of a relationship with the MLS and the enevitable benefits of said relationship I mean if you owned a business and used two suppliers when it came time to renew your contract which one would you choose the one thats transparent lets you see how they fill your orders and because of this transparent relationship you know exactly how those orders filled or the one who fills the order but for you it might be a little iffy thats why I think the USL PRO might for the time being be the best option now back on topic what happened at the meeting

I'm anxious to see both leagues in action and what they have to offer Oklahoma City.

We are one to two years away from seeing any action--many of us are full of enthusiasm as we wait in anticipation of the arrival of both leagues. Let's not burn ourselves out on this forum.

These groups will have 'skin in the game.' Let's show support for the NASL and/or USL-Pro as they represent our city. One group doesn't have to tear the other down. What's important? Stay focused on what you have to offer to soccer; as an ownership group and as an avid fan and supporter.

Many of you have stated how you feel about the two competing leagues. Let's respect one another's opinions on these issues.

"Think for yourself and let others enjoy the privilege of doing so too.”Voltaire.

This is producing polarization among some posters on this forum--does it have to be that way?

Nothing really got settled in the meeting on Saturday. Seems like most people are just happy to have Soccer here in the city, and want to support the game. There was not a lot of people there, I guess that is what you get when you schedule a meeting when OU is playing at home. They want to have more meetings to try and get more peoples input as well. I think as of right now the supporters group is just going to be supporting soccer in the city, there is a new facebook page as well. https://www.facebook.com/supportersOKCsoccer.

They talked about rebranding and changing the colors, but who knows what the NASL colors will be, and like I said there wasn't too many people there so didn't have very many creative minds tossing around suggestions. Talked about maybe getting a capo to lead chants while at games and getting people to set up TIFO's... Like I said it was a lot of talk not much deciding on anything. Will have to wait for upcoming meetings

I don't think I said it on these forums, but on an OKC forum I said that. Called them up to ask them a simple question.. Seems like they were pretty excited that I called asking about a supporter section. I saw an Energy guy at the Barons game on Friday night and he said he remembered my call cause everybody in the office was excited. Like they didn't know there was already a supporters group here. If they just went out and tried to get into the community they might would have known there was a group of us out there.

I thought it was one of the OKC-centric places, just couldn't remember which one. It stunned me to see it, because it showed just how little awareness they have of the existing soccer community within the city and how little outreach has been done towards it.

There is a lot of confusion on the forum which would bring up what ManuSooner suggested: Having separate forums for the NASL group and the USL-Pro group. I'm having concerns myself especially when it come to sorting things out and keeping on topic.

    We have enough threads:

The Battle of Oklahoma City would be one in which both groups could posts for now and keep somewhat within the scope of topic.

I do recognize that this is the NASL thread which was set up; to accomplish this we need everyone on board with helping to establish an Oklahoma City USL-Pro site addressing this segment of our soccer community.

We (Oklahoma City) are unique in that we have two groups competing for fan support. Working together we can turn this into a positive thing.

Our ultimate goal will be to:

    1. Keep the Oklahoma City soccer community united.
    2. Show support for both groups during this process.
    3. Unite together as one community in the event we're faced with supporting just one league.
    4. Our goal will be to support the highest level of soccer--OKC community deserves nothing less.
    A. If MLS is our ultimate goal; it can be done through either league.

Laramie that's what I've trying to do if those of us who agree would go to the customer service forum there is a thread to cast your vote (the link was provided on an earlier post in this thread) just go there and tell the mods you want a desperate forum for the okc energy fc us pro team it will do away with alot of the confusion its as easy as that

So what some would suggest the nasl team have 5 or 6 threads and the us pro okc energy fc fans be confined to the battle okc thread and every time we mention them we get told to stay on topic what's right about that nothing its almost like you guys are saying that Energy fans are second class citizens
and that our opinions don't matter these are two seperate entities separate them for goodness sake

Well this is a NASL forum.

In the USL Forum you have

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/okc-team-named-named-energy-fc.1996845/

    Or

Your right there are those but we would be confined to talk about the team name if we wanted to talk about the roster or a friendly we wouldn't be able to its as if you guys have decided you don't want them so you can't talk about them tell the truth how would you feel if you it was your team being excluded you know what forget it I'm out of here
