I've had an xbox 360 for the last 3 years but I cant wait to get my hands on the Ps4, the controller looks a lot better which is good considering that was one of the advantages of the 360 over the PS3
"PlayStation®4 (PS4™) Launches November 15 In North America, November 29 In Europe And Latin America" (Tuesday, 8/20/13) -G
Sonys Gamescom press conference was really good, other than some of the camera angle choices. Why they had a distant stage shot from an angle when demonstrating the XMB, video viewing (Twitch), and quick join match function was really frustrating. Other than that though, Sony really brought the goods for all three of their platforms. Also incredibly happy Rogue Legacy is gonna have the chance for a larger audience gets to play it, such an incredible game.
Not me. There just are not any launch titles on the system that warrants a pre-order imo. When Naughty Dog release their first title on PS4, thats when Ill be buying it I reckon.
You're 28! There'll never be a more acceptable time to burn 350 quid on a games console. Actually, didn't know you were in Birmingham. I used to live in Perry Barr. I'd like to look at the PS4, but it's a tough choice between that and the Xbox1. I really want to check out TitanFall. Looks like so much fun. IN the end, I might still stick with the Playstation. The thing that's so hard about it all is that it depends now on more than just the games; I want as much to be as seamless as possible. Mobile phone, PC, console, etc.
xbox fcuked up at e3 and it looks like the ps4 is better hardware wise from what i read....i've been a ps gamer since 97 so i doubt i'll change unless it turns out to be super shit i live in shirley, unlucky about perry barr! live near the dog track?
I know exactly how you feel. Not to mention, I only really have time to play sports titles nowadays. I can't immerse myself in any sort of game that takes a million hours to beat like I was able to back in the day.....
Reading Polygon and other sites today, looks like Sony just dumped a lot of crap on PS4 buyers with a lot of features once found in the PS3 now removed from the PS4. Thoughts?
At least I'll be keeping my PS3 around to stream to, I guess? BTW not being able to use your own HD is horseshit. Here we go again with proprietary Sony garbage, a la minidiscs and memory sticks.
I never streamed movies from my pc to either of my consoles so that isn't big deal to me. I did figure since it seemed alot of people wanted the ability to have their own custom soundtracks ala the 360 the PS4, so kinda surprised there. Though we have no confirmation the next xbox will have that option either. A bit torn on the harddrive, seeing how the PS4 will most likely be the go to machine for multiplats and indie/digital releases I was looking forward to being able to use my own. But this current gen; while it was a bummer, I had no trouble paying the price MS asked for their hard drives. So... I guess thinking through it now no biggie for me.
Personally I play on a games console for games, and not side features. Good move by Sony to strip down meaningless crap.
Most likely yes. Even though I already pre-paid for my new console, hopefully the line at the store won't be too long by the time I get there. The only PS4 game I have thus far (which, oddly enough, I was actually able to pick up earlier this week) is FIFA 14, though I also plan to try out at least some of the launch games that'll be available on PlayStation Plus. I'll try to get more games over the next few weeks, both sports and non-sports ones alike. How about you? Will you be picking up your new console today? If so, what's the first game you plan to play? -G
lucky. Sadly I won't be grabbing one for awhile. If I was though I would begin by just getting a years subscription of plus cause the only launch game I really wanna play is Resogun. Watching Giantbombs live stream of the PS4 now and the mic on the camera is actually pretty cool. The voice commands worked quickly, moving in and out of the game appeared to work about as fast as pushing the button. Using the "guide" button to move in out of the game, while the game still ran, was super cool to see too.
Not the least of which is because there wasn't the huge line at the store on Friday morning as I had initially feared. As it turned out, the huge line showed up to the store's PS4's midnight release, but since I'd already prepaid for mine, the system was held for me anyway (and would've been held for up to 48 hours). I was so busy with various things yesterday that I didn't get the chance to download Resogun or any of the other PS+ games, so hopefully I'll have time to do that today. Along with the year's subscription to PS+ that I purchased, also included in the box was a code for a $10 credit for the PlayStation Store. The store where I bought my PS4 also included another $10 PlayStation Store credit code on the receipt, so after entering both codes, I now have $20 worth of PlayStation Store credit. Also included in the box were codes for free 30-day trials of both PS+ and and Music Unlimited, and FIFA 14 included an insert for a free seven-day trial of PS+. I haven't entered the Music Unlimited code yet (it'll apparently by $10/month after the free trial month), while neither the seven-day trial PS+ code nor the 30-day trial PS+ code worked once I'd already entered in the one-year PS+ code (I'd hoped that they'd stack, but alas they don't ). I didn't get the PS4 Camera yet, but I hopefully will at some point soon. -G
Cool enough, I found out you actually don't need the Camera to run the voice command tasks, just a headset. Seems to be a catch all for several different problems; hard drive issue and hdmi problem are two of the problems I've read about. Sony says about .04% of PS4's have had problems so far.
