We had a direct line to that albeit we were on the other side of the field. Told the wife when it happened that a red was coming. Looked like a stamp on the knee or chest to me. Thought it was a legit call.
Yeah, don't get in BS as much as the old days. Wife and I adopted two kids so they take up a bit of my posting time. Living in Smryna for a bit while wife gets her MSW at Kennesaw State. How are things on your end? Not at Auburn anymore?
That's what it looked like from my vantage point in 309, and the replay only seemed to confirm that. If CONCACAF ever starts employing NASL refs, watch out. Oh, and a pregame pint will be in order before the Minnesota game.
Doing well here. I'm currently doing some work with the Auburn Network covering Auburn women's soccer games while finishing up my master's. One day I'll escape this town.
That can be arranged. I'll probably need a few for when those overpaid thugs in fancy pajamas come to town. Seriously, am I the only one who thinks Minnesota's uniforms look goofy? Everyone seems to love them.
Everything about their rebrand was pretty contrived. I am, however, fond of the "Dethloons" nickname their supporters have come up with.
The wife has already inquired as to whether we will go to the next home match... I said, sure why not. She then proceeded with a clever flanking tactic by stating, wouldn't you have more fun if you went alone and stood with that crazy supporters in the corner ... Clever girl, that one.
Wynalda said during the halftime interview they had a few injuries: Cruz rolled his ankle and Reiss "might be out for the season." I think Reiss is underused already so that really sucks.
Yeah, I saw that Cruz was in street clothes when I was hanging out at the bar pre-game. Not a good time to have injuries with the NASL's postseason version of the Community Shield upcoming.
Tonight was rough, too. Damn. Really disliking this split season thing more every week. The team clearly isn't motivated enough this half of the season. I hope we don't embarrass ourselves by dragging this half-assed effort into the Soccer Bowl. Oh well. I will be there making noise regardless.
Pulling for you guys to win next week. It'd be nice to quite the Cosmos fanatics for a little while. Lol.
Nice article on the Silverbacks: http://www.socceramerica.com/article/54746/six-things-to-know-about-silverbacks.html
It's a cool logo. If I didn't think we'd get shit on by the PC Police I wouldn't mind the Chiefs name.
Lancaster's wife posted this on the team's Facebook page after the game: "Tough loss for the Silverback players tonight. BUT - Unbelievable- Complete disrespect for Martyn Lancaster. Nice way to reward your Captain." Uh oh.
Or Luna, or James...I guess I can see starting out with the line-up they had but when nothing happened going forward whatsoever and you're down 1-0 something needed to change immediately. Baffling why subs were so late. Though no offense to Lancaster defense wasn't the issue at all, the goal was a great shot from a lucky bounce.
