In the first half against Washington, it sounds like Kendall McIntosh of Santa Clara has shown again why he was the only U20 goalkeeper worth looking at: zero saves, four goals allowed.

Huskies lead 4-0. Hat trick for defender Taylor Peay.

Sure his inclusion in the roster had nothing to do with the santa

McIntosh gave up a really lazy goal versus SIUE. Free kick from 20-25 out at a 45 degree angle to McIntosh's right. Before the wall is completely even with the near post, McIntosh goes back to the center of the goal. SIUE player sees the gap and rolls it in around the wall front post.

I think McIntosh is another product of just an athletic goalie who could make the top 90 save but that's it. He looks very uneasy in goal and inspires no confidence to his team.

You're just trying to piss me off, aren't ya?

Two of the goals come off Michael Harris flip-throws.

Against Cleveland St tonight, Louisville fielded 15 players, eight of whom transferred in, four of whom are freshmen, and the other three include a junior and two sophomores.

It's far from a traditional roster, but it seems to be getting the job done. 2-0 win, and according to gametracker, shots were 15-0.

Cal Poly up 2-0 on UCLA mid-way through the second half. With CB Joe Sofia suspended, UCLA conceded two early goals, and now CB Michael Amick has been sent off.

USF and Cal are 0-0, being streamed for free but I haven't had a chance to catch much

    Poly finished off UCLA 3-0.

Cal frosh Christian Thierjung scored with eight seconds left to beat San Francisco, 1-0.

Present at CP-UCLA game. On the long drive home but the short of it is that Cal Poly pressed very well for most of the game and often in UCLA half. Definitely UCLA missed Sofia, but speed on the wings really worked for CP.They seemed to move the ball much faster than at the Creighton game. Probably almost as many CP fans as there were UCLA fans at the game.

I have no idea how CP played against Creighton, your assessment of how this game went was spot on. Cal Poly carved UCLA up along with wings all game long. UCLA was really toothless in attack and had only 9 shots all game. Meanwhile CP was getting behind UCLA time and again, especially Chronopoulos. They also toyed with UCLA once they went a man up - doing a real good job of spreading the field and exposing UCLA when they tried to chase. With so many good attacking players, I thought Cal Poly would be good. However, I thought UCLA would show a lot more.

I was surprised Thierjung didn't play more in the first two games. He seemed to me to be the one attacker that stood out. I don't know how much he played in this game but certainly made a strong case for more time as he had 1/4 of the teams shots in addition to the game winning goal.

Looking at the box score I noticed the team got a yellow? Does the coach get ejected on the second yellow?

Leading scorer in NCAA Division I, UMBC's Pete Caringi III who has 6 goals in 3 games. Has scored twice in each match against, Seattle, UNLV and CCSU.

Caringi is on a bit of a roll.

He was the America East offensive player of the year as a junior and then won the PDL scoring title this summer and was named the PDL's top player 21-and-younger.

And now this scoring tear to start the season. I'll be curious to see if all this productivity translates to MLS interest - obviously he grew up around the game and his dad was a pretty good player before going into coaching so the pedigree combined with his production and size (6-1) should get him some looks. (And if they don't, I'm sure the old man has some contacts he can call, though the kid has certainly earned a shot based on merit.)

CAL now 3 wins and 0 losses! Not bad. Always love seeing a freshman score in the final seconds! My cousin Chris Bernardi scored the 3rd goal for Cal Poly! Great win by the Mustangs!

That's a great win for Cal Poly. Also helps Creighton, which already beat Cal Poly.

Had to figure Cal was due for a bounce back year. There is a lot of talent on that team.

Sad because my other cousin Tony Salciccia , Cal's last years captain already graduated. In retrospect or looking back, maybe he should have red shirted but he was healthy and doing ok and was starting so why red shirt? Who knew? Kevin Grimes though does seem to have Cal rejuvenated! Good for him!

I do root for UCLA when they are not playing Cal Poly. Have known a few players' families thru circles during the past few years. I root against EVERYTHING Trojan... yuck.

Marquette - Bowling Green on right now, the clock is counting up. Any idea why? I think that is one of the things that NCAA needs to change, but does anyone know why?

SIUE drops SMU 1-0 on another goal by Christian Volesky. Three road wins to start the season for the Cougars.

Hararea, still think this kid has no chance at the Herman?
