Are there any differences in fit and comfort of the faux leather and dimpled upper of the vapor 9?

I'm not 100% sure - but Im guessing not. It wouldn't make sense for Nike to make one upper in a bigger size. Plus you need to have someone on the board who has tried on both boots. You might just have to risk it.

I think he means the tiny bit of splitting from the upper - Once again im not having a go at you personally and i know that people pay a lot for boots so want them to last them a long time. But to me (and possibly Nike if you want to return them) its just wear and tear and the shoe moulding to your foot. Personally I'd wait and see if it got any worse.

Plus its the type of split thats only visible when you pull the upper away from the sole yourself, if its on your foot i imagine you wouldn't be able to see it.

I know what you mean, but for a boot that's specially made for artofficial grass and that's just been used 4/5 times you wouldn't expect that there would be any damage to a boot like this...and ofcourse i'm not going to return them (unless it gets worse)

Hello, I asked this question a while ago, but the thread got closed as I should have put the question in here.
    Well here goes again....

Hi, I own a pair of these Superflys in Max Orange/Abyss (see first link below). The product code is 354553-851 and they are made in China. They are great boots.
    http://www.netba.com.tr/Resimler\354553-851-3.jpg

So I bought a new pair in Black/Yellow (see 2nd link below).
    http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk...al-vapor-superfly-fg--black-bright-yellow.gif

My problem is. They are slightly different so I'm wondering if they are real or fake.
They don't have the same tongue or insoles. The size tag is on the side of the boot, not the back of the tongue and they are Made in Italy, not China.
They have the same outer markings and lines as the orange boots but are a lot lighter and more feint.
There are no padded pouches inside to protect the heel like on the orange version.
There is no product code in the usual Nike format of 6 numbers followed by 3 numbers (eg. 888888-888). There is some numbers but they are all together 100541447. There is also a upc code 00883212022684.

I'm wondering if the ones made in Italy are made to a different spec. Were there Mercurials made in Italy at all??!!
Or maybe it's an earlier/later model?
    Help would be appreciated.

There are probably a lot of people on the board who can help you with this, just the problem is you've posted a picture of a stock/catalogue image of the boots, so its hard to tell. If you can show us pictures of the actual boots then we can help you more. Take a picture of the sole, thats usually the give away because the carbon fibre is just like a printed piece of paper on the bottom and you can't see the woven elements of the carbon fibre. The flywire and then possibly the insole.

If you can do that - we can give our opinion!

Like I said - I wasn't having a go at you. Just, thats what happens to football boots sometimes when they mould to your foot. It doesn't matter what surface they are designed for it just happens.

I have a pair of LZ where the front is slightly splitting from the sole, but if you look at them you can see its where the synthetic has moulded around my toes - am I disappointed? Yes. But i brought them to be worn and thats what I've done, they fit like a glove and I'm happy with them.

Obviously if they get worse send them back, but it might sound silly but i sometimes think that we forget our boots are to be played in ... unless you just collect them.

Enjoy them and like i said you always have the option to send them back.

Really want a pair of Vapor IXs, but I always hear people rave about earlier models. I barely know anything about the Mercurial line past the VIIIs, so what are some of you guys' favourite previous Mercurial?

The boots should have come with a stud snap tool - I'm sure you would be able to but one on eBAY if you wanted to do things properly they shouldn't be very expensive. If not you should be able to get them off with a flat screwdriver. The studs will pop/flick out. The studs aren't very thick and are hollow in the plastic shaft of the boot.

You are supposed to play with your boots, so yeah it shouldn't be a problem.
I have no experience with anything before Vapors but if you have narrow feet or just like snug barefoot feel, the Vapor I and II will be perfect for you. If you have wide feet and still want Vapors you should take a look at Vapor IV and V.

Viii and ix fit differently in terms of width with ix's being tighter round the sides. I also found viii's quite loose around the heel. You really have to try the at a shop to see how they feel to you. Im yet to try ix on pitch cos i bought sg pros and the ground is rock hard at the moment

am seriously thinking of leaving team mercurial...the boots (for the wide footed amongst us) are quite tight on the side of your feet meaning that sizing up at least .5 may be necessary. Problem is soccer scene dont do 11.5 and nike town charge an extra 40 quid. Hypervenom here i come :(
