Kicker reports Werder made a bid for Marcel Schäfer, who is currently no starter for Wolfsburg, but Allofs declined.

Wolfsburg have a hundred players and they really should get rid of some of them for various reasons. Allofs should stop blocking the inevitable...

His contract ends in summer and his performances were not good. The clubs currently listed are comparable with Werder and Valencia is an update (though Bremen is financially more stable). I would not mind if he moves on.

quite happy with the DiSanto signing. I really believe he'll come up big for us.

Signing of Di Santo is actually hurting Füllkrug's playing time and chances at CF spot

A pity because Fuellkrug has all the potential n tools to become a star CF in modern football as he has size, skills, pace, creativity, scoring nstinct n clinical finsihing; on the other hand Di Santo is old-school/outdated towering targetman who has a terrible scoring record at 1 goal in 9 games in EPL. There are many reasons why he is a FA in mid-August

Its particularly sad to see a team, in order to achieve immidiate result, they bring in mediocre foreign player n be the main obstacle of a young German player who has star potential.

Fuellkrug can simply leave Werder Bremen, joining a club like Freiburg or Mainz and can be a starter already

His ego definitely wouldn't fit in at Celtic.

If Elia has another bad season, I'd be glad to see him gone as well. Him and Arnautovic form easily the most volatile, inconsistent, and under-performing set of talented wingers in the league.

According to the Kreiszeitung Arnautovics salary is cut by around 66%, so he currently earns around 650k € - 700k € instead of 2 million € annually. Maybe this increases his will to accept an offer by another club.

    http://www.kreiszeitung.de/sport/werder-bremen/arnautovic-gehts-geldboerse-3065123.html

Some commentators on the newspapers board are funny, e.g. wrote: "From now on Arnautovic can only buy 1/3 of another mans life." * :D

*: Background: Arnautovic said to a policeman: "Bite me! I earn so much, I could buy your life! I am superior to you."

For his age, Elia shows me nothing for the time he plays on the field. I don't know what scouting was thinkig when they signed this dude. Lets have another "de Bruyne" type starter, with some playmaking qualities and see how the team dynamic changes..problem is the transfer window is just weeks away!

Elia works for the team, but I completely agree with you: He has deficits that do not fit with his reputation. I know positive performace jumps are less likely for 25+ years old players, but Elia should work on his passing and finishing skills.

    Transfer rumors from kreiszeitung.de:

Joseph Akpala is on a trial at FC Reading (relegated club from Premier League) since saturday. The English club wants to test his form because he did not make many matches for Bremen. Today a feedback from Reading is expected.

Johannes Wurtz should be sent on loan to collect experience. Some clubs are interestedin signing him on loan, VfR Aalen from 2. Bundesliga seems to have the best cards.

Mateo Pavlovic is another candidate for a loan deal, but so far there are no rumors about clubs interesting in a loan deal.

Aleksandar Stevanovic and Florian Hartherz have small chances to collect many matches this season. Kreiszeitung.de that they either get sold or their contracts ending next summer get extended before sending them on loan.

    ***

The rumors on signing Diego Contento cooled down. Eichin said in an inteview: " We got a clear signal from Bayern Munich that they want him to stay. So we put that topic on ice ... for now. We have to wait how things develop."

    Playing a 4-3-3, I suddenly really miss Marin. It's a formation he'd be great in. :(

Me not. Marko Marin would be an improvement to our current starters, but he is also a player who holds the ball too long.
In the Spanish league that can fit and he had a good debut for Sevilla, but if Dutt wants a fast transition from defending to attacking Marko is not the right player for such a system.

Eichin just confirmed that Bayern are not willing to let Contento go after selling Gustavo, so we won't be able to sign him.

A pity. Don't want us to sign Riise though, he's way past it, rather someone young with potential.

transfermarkt suggesting that West Bromwich Albion England may be interested in Astro. He would be joining former SVWB forward Marcus Rosenberg

I'm hoping we can sell Arno and bring in Valentin Stocker from FC Basel. (I'm dreaming, obviously. I doubt he'd give up playing CL soccer to play for us.)

Some internet buzz linking us with Klose. Absolutely ludicrous. But it seems to be picking up traction among the wishful thinkers and the people who forget the grand betrayal of Klose's Werder-exit.

Not to mention the high salary he'd demand and which we can't really afford these days.

I haven't forgotten that betrayal, but I'm still 'pragmatic' enough to accept his return simply because we're desperate for some quality up front. But only if he'd accept a considerable wage cut. It could happen knowing how much Klose wants to play in the 2014 WC. He'd be in focus of the German media again, it would be easier for him to get attention, as he's somewhat flying under the radar in Italy.

As far as I got it Klose stated in an interview he thinks about returning to Germany after the WC 2014.
So rumors come up connecting him with his former clubs, then people don't know the difference between 'now' and 'after WC 2014'.

Well, but there are some other rumors. Kreiszeitung states FC Reading is happy about Akpalas trial and wants to contact Werder to negotiate about a deal (buying Akpala/loaning him).

Fülkrug has been loaned to Greuther Fürth (with no option to buy, thank God). Akpala, meanwhile, has returned to Bremen after his tryout with Reading.

Füllkrug is a quality talent, I hope he gets a good amount of playing time at Fürth and returns stronger.

Füllkrug won't have too many chances in Furth. He'll put himself into a difficult situation as Furth have many more experienced options up top and is also competitive.

Only one starting CF spot. Apparently Azemi n those Serbian strikers are few years older n are more proven; whereas Füllkrug while having a MUCH higher ceiling, is having a lower floor in terms of potential, he doesn't hv the experience n required match practice yet. Teams wanna play safe n looking for immediate result, so Füllkrug won't hv much chance startjng at CF at all

Not to mention teams usually prefer their own players than the loaned players unless the quality is so much different.

So they'll play Füllkrug at AM. Where isn't his best position n waste of some his great attributes such as clinical finishing n Predator instinct.

I actually think Füllkrug would hv as much chance to succeed in Werder Bremen this season than Furth (which is just as competitive n a log-jam up top)

Playing great in 2BL means nothing when he joins Werder Bremen again, especially when Bremen bring in a big money singing CF next summer. Füllkrug will always be "unready" n "unproven" n "too young"

Füllkrug should join a club like Freiburg or Braunschweig instead. May hv much better chance to succeed there
