Bravo's trip to Cameroon called off: http://www.coloradorapids.com/news/...o-postpones-trip-cameroon-watch-eloundou-play
So, I am wondering if they are positioning Doyle as a replacement for Eloundou. I could see them realizing things are not going to work out or the transfer, then convincing the league to let them have Doyle as a consolation prize. Get the fans focused on Doyle, then quietly announce that the deal for Eloundou fell through.... Just my conspiracy theory. rod.
The key to that is getting the league to give us Doyle in compensation for the Eloundou mess. I don't see the league doing that.
My thoughts exactly. If we had LA, NY, or SEA in front of our name, then I would expect it to happen. Since we are CO, it is hard to say.
Fair enough. I don't know that he could crack the starting lineup, let alone impact this year. Eloundou is likely a project for future years....
From Story, last sentence was why FIFA shut them down: When the elections did go ahead, Iya Mohamed was re-elected president despite the fact he is being detained by the authorities in Cameroon. He is being investigated after being accused of embezzling money at state-owned Cotton Development Company. Soon after the election results were announced, Fecafoot's elections appeals committee declared them void. In the aftermath, John Begheni Ndeh announced himself head of the federation and started work with the help of police, which was deemed as political interference by Fifa.
Wish he would just pass it along instead of waiting for articlkes on MLS or Rapids websites. Chris Bianchi @Rapids_News 15m Also- new developments on the Eloundou front. I'd love to know the #Rapids' international phone bill from this season.
@Rapids_News: Better than what I thought four hours ago. But I don't know much. RT @JDSportsfan85: @Rapids_News positive or negative Follow up tweet from Chris Bianchi after asked if it was positive or negative news
If it means anything he's a Rapids according to Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Eloundou Perhaps this will bring us the same type of luck as it did with Torres. Would like to read more from Bianchi about what's going on.
Oh, could we please stop with the Wikipedia references? You want to know who made German Mera a Rapid on Wikipeida? Me. They're meaningless.
Tim Hinchey was on the Extra Time Radio Podcast, and Simon Borg asked him about the Eloundou situation. Hinchey basically said that they are out if ideas on what to do-- they have filed the protests they can, but FIFA won't do anything to help. He says that it's the agent who's really running the show and there's no way to seize power from him.
Sort of makes one wish we hadn't 'won', like the guy that wins several million in a lottery, quits his job, screws up his life, wastes all the money, and ends up wishing he hadn't won. Also if we hadn't 'won' we might have Doyle (to trade to D.C. or whatever) instead of just a bagel for our efforts there.
