Nice find. I think you meant this for the last link(?): http://www.fussball-talente.com/Bild_einsenden-3_24-114066-1.html 2nd from the right in the back row:
There have been rumors of Francisco "Panchito" Mendoza getting US citizenship: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...a-with-cd-leones-negros-de-la-u-de-g.1949297/ He was transferred in the Ascenso MX player draft from Leones Negros to CF Delfines del Carmen for the upcoming season: http://www.informador.com.mx/deport...negros-y-tecos-se-arman-hasta-los-dientes.htm Hat tip to the Goat Parade for the news: http://www.thegoatparade.com/2013/6...n-mayen-moving-fas-leones-negros-skoda-xanthi
Transfermarkt now says two U19s at Ludwigshafener SC in Germany are "Amis." One is Marcus Hawk, who I've had on a watchlist for a while (he was at Kaiserslautern at one time), and the other is Malcolm Little, who I've never heard of. They are both listed with the club for the upcoming "Saison." http://www.ludwigshafenersc.com/a1_jugendframe.htm Hawk: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/marcus-hawk/profil/spieler_278129.html Little: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/malcolm-little/profil/spieler_278135.html
I started a thread for José de la Tejera here, but he problem belongs in this thread. As pointed out by Hararea in the Youth Yanks Abroad thread in the Youth National team forum, de la Tejera's Development Academy page lists his nationality as the United States and his country of citizenship as Mexico. The Mexican league site lists his place of origin as Leon, Mexico. He is part of the Santos Laguna U-20s
Swedish Superettan club IFK Värnamo have announced on their website that they have signed a player named Phathizwe Sacolo. In their news release they describe him as american/south african and he does seem to have played some time in the u.s. but after a quick google he seems to be listed as only south african on other sites. He was also one of the guys touring with a Chicago based team in Sweden recently, looking to get signed.
Thanks for this. Seems unlikely, but I suppose he could have an American parent or parents. Did play some college ball here, as you noted, but came over from South Africa to do so; consequently, his American connections are unclear... With that said, given that clubs need to know these things for passport/clearance purposes it may be true after all. I'll send the club a note and see if they response.
Phati's college bio. Says nothing that would imply he's American but that, of course, doesn't rule it out. http://athletics.umfk.maine.edu/player/167/2/ (Mostly I just wanted an excuse to write "Phati.")
Transfermarkt says a fellow named Michael Smith playing in Iceland for BI/Bolungarvík is American. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/michael-smith/profil/spieler_272425.html The club doesn't seem to address it. http://www.bibol.is/mfl_karla/leikmenn/ Wiki thinks he's a Brit. There are several Brits at BI, so that wouldn't surprise me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BÍ/Bolungarvík But perhaps somebody here knows more about him?
Nikolas Lombardi at FC Amberg in Bayernliga Nord (Germany)? 2 goals in 3 starts this season: http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/nikolas-lombardi/leistungsdaten/spieler_264791.html http://fcamberg.de/1-mannschaft/
Pretty sure we can count this guy. I think he's part of the Sonoma State/NorCal ecosystem that routinely sends guys to European teams. (Funny, I think I just looked for him a day or so a go and they hadn't updated their roster online. Nice catch.)
Phathizwe Sacolo Passport: South Africa Position: Striker Date of Birth: 06.11.1991 Height: 5ft 9in Weight: 165 Foot: Both http://www.tfsportsgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Phathi-Sacolo-CV.pdf
Goal for Stuttgarter Kickers II vs. Pforzheim: Transfermarket has him born in Coral Springs, Florida: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/fabian-abramowitz/leistungsdaten/spieler_129490_gesamt.html Formerly of TSV Badboll: Übersicht Name Fabian Abramowitz Alter 21 Position Mittelfeld Nation http://www.tsvbadboll.de/ligamanager/player/fabian-abramowitz/landesliga-2012-2013
Nice catch. They had been listing him as American but with out more data (like a birthplace) I generally don't go with Transfermarkt players. They must have added it recently.
Transfermarkt says a fellow named Mustafa Bazzi is with a club called Nejmeh in Beirut: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/mustafa-samir-bazzi/profil/spieler_286769.html Could be this guy -- Moustafa Bazzi from Michigan: http://www.detroittitans.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1519 His college bio doesn't say he wasn't born in the States so it's certainly possible he's ours. Here's the club site, which I cannot read: http://www.nejmeh-club.com/
The player Dylan Alexis Romney, who Transfermarkt says is American, is currently on loan to Varese (Primavera I think) from Inter. Some other database sites also seem to indicate he's American, but I'm not sure how. Anybody know? (I have sent a note to Varese in hopes of finding out.)
This site has him born 8/7/92 in Dearborn, MI: http://www.footballdatabase.eu/football.joueurs.moustafa.bazzi.209497.en.html Good enough?
The Soccer-Talents web site says VfB Oldenburg's Shaun Minns is a Yank. Haven't been able to confirm this yet. He joined the team this summer from FC Oberneuland. Der VfB Oldenburg hat am Freitag seinen zweiten Neuzugang für die kommende Saison unter Vertrag genommen. Vom FC Oberneuland wechselt Shaun Minns zu den Blauen. http://www.vfb-oldenburg.de/magazin/artikel.php?artikel=3899&type=2&menuid=266&topmenu=266 Transfermarkt only has him as German. http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/shaun-minns/profil/spieler_83864.html His manager is a fellow named Alexander Nouri, who some longtime posters may remember.
This dude (pretty reliable source) says he is a Yank: Cofirmed: Inter Milan Academy (now on loan at Varese Primavera) striker '96 Dylan Alexis Romney is eligible to play for the USA #usynt— Joey (@USAprospects) October 10, 2013
Transfermarkt lists Andres Flores of Isidro Metapan as a dual citizen of El Salvador and the United States. He has 23 caps for El Salvador. I can't find any other reference to him being a U.S. citizen, though, and I can't find any connection to the US.
Transfermarkt lists Nigerian-born '88 striker Badum Maaloo of Germany's Waldhof Mannheim II (5th tier - Badischer Fussballerverband) as American: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/badum-maaloo/profil/spieler_255482.html As do a couple of other sites: http://www.fussball-talente.com/Badum_Maaloo-3_7-129855-1.html http://www.cvgoal.com/en/footballer/badum-maaloo/1/ Full name Badum Django Maaloo, seems like English is his first language: https://twitter.com/NaijaRisto Any thread on him will have to take full advantage of that middle name. There is a Badum Maaloo who came to the US at about the right age as a refugee in 1999 (see p. 10): http://www.ucc.org/assets/pdfs/rj.pdf I'm thinking that's probably him. Not the most common name in the US among boys that age. He's already come up several times in the Adam Afghani thread: Adam Afghani in Germany
Transfermarkt says an American '92 name Julien Dragomir is at a Romanian club called ACS Poli Timisoara. There is such a player, from Arizona, and he was originally bound for UNLV this fall after playing a season at Yavapai. However, he's not on UNLV's roster. That said, I can't find mention of him at the Romanian club either -- apart from a summer trial. http://www.opiniatimisoarei.ro/acs-...entia-celor-de-la-benfica-lisabona/20/07/2013 There is a player named Dragomir there, but I think his first name's Vlad and he's in the academy. I could have this all wrong.
Transfermarkt says a German-born '88 named Robin Patton is a Yank. No club is listed for him. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/robin-patton/transfers/spieler_92301.html He might now be at BFC Preussen. http://www.bfc-preussen-fussball.de/herren/kader-43-2.html?PHPSESSID=f1cc86abfcc24g16i7rgr20h45 But it's not clear to me that the above is a current roster. He may have moved on.
