    I'm pushing Armada.

Big fan of any name military related. Armada definitely fits that.

As for the colors, I've really like the Super Bowl XXXIX logo for the longest time. Those colors work great for Jacksonville.

Those are pretty solid colors. I was thinking purple because so few teams use it. Change that medium blue to a Navy blue (looks a bit lighter) and you've got something.

Purple works with those colors as well ;)

I'm a proponent of Armada as well. Military but specifically naval themed. And if we go with a naval theme, navy blue and white would be natural team colors.

Whichever name they choose, the club needs to steer clear of a combination of blue and orange for colors. I'd really like to see something distinct from any other club in NASL.

Armada is a pretty interesting choice on many levels. Blue/white is kind of bland though.

If the team was named the Armada, I'd be totally in favor of changing First Coast Elite's name to the Gunners, or the Midshipmen, or the Crew, or something navy related.

I think Navy is a pretty popular color with teams in the league already, same for red, and yellow - especially in Florida.

    Imagine Fiorentina [IMG]

    That just looks beautiful.

(note- I am a Fiorentina fan)

The area behind the goal would be "The Deck"

    Cannon fire after goals scored.

After a win- raise the flag.

Press box is the Main Mast or the Look out.

Guy gets sent off - he walks the plank .. to the locker rooms ;)

This is the "First Naval Jack" flown by USN vessels. Not sure if it would work with the Armada theme, but I thought it was an interesting design.

I cannot express how much I am invested in the name "Jax Inferno SC"

JAX of course because it's what we are widely known as across the country and it's become much more than just our airport abbreviation.

Inferno because of the "Great Fire of 1901" . . . Obviously "Fire" is already taken by Chicago but they are not the only city that paid their dues from a city-wide "inferno" . . . The Chicago and San Francisco fires are the only bigger ones in the history of our county, yet nobody ever talks about ours. For more on the fire, here's a short and moving video:

SC because we are not in Europe. Jacksonville already has a football club, they are called the Jaguars. The Inferno would be a Soccer Club. I'm constantly disappointed seeing American teams try to mock (strong word, I know) the monikers of storied European franchises (Sporting, Real, United, etc . . . ), but nothing bothers me more than FC. It's like saying that we somehow got it wrong here, when it was actually the English that first came up with the term "Soccer" as some sort of abbreviation for "Association Football" . . . For more on that, please click here

    http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/06/the-origin-of-the-word-soccer/

Colors should be some shade of red, and of course Navy blue. The Navy Blue is obvious with the city's Naval heritage. The red not only provokes images of a fire, but is also a tribute to the old "Tea Men" and as a stretch, even matches some of the other cities up and coming teams like the Sharks of the AFL or also focuses on another "football" history of sorts with the USFL's Jacksonville Bulls

Yes, I know those last two comparisons are total bunk, but that's how committed I am to seeing this name as the one that goes through

I used to care about SC vs FC, but after working in the game a while, I really don't care which way it goes. Football is the universal term, but I'd be fine with anything.

Inferno is a solid name. Less sold on the Navy/red scheme as its one of the most common out there..

    Random Ideas

I'm down with the Naval theme.....'Armada' is cool

Stadium called the Basin, or Port 904 or throw the word Duval in there somewhere
Duval Basin.....of course I suppose we hope a sponsor throws some money at a stadium

The area for the supporters section could be called "the bridge" or "the conn" or the "Flight Deck" .

As far as the fans, I agree that "crew" is good.I took a look at the names of the P-3 squadrons we have at NAS JAX some names were Mad Foxes, Tigers . Lancers. Tridents. etc. none which excited me. Did see a fighter squadron called "Fist of the Fleet" which sounds pretty cool.

I have to say that I like purple as the color as well. (or maroon) I loved the old Jacksonville Bulls uniform

I'm picking up what you're putting down, but there is not currently a single team in the NASL using such a color scheme, much less red as a primary color. (Unless you count San Antonio, who seem to use Black and Red equally). To be fair, I think Indy may have a similar color scheme in the works, but I will say this color scheme is simply an idea that I think is conducive with the proposed team name, and in no way am I as attached to it as I am with the actual Jax Inferno SC moniker.

I will also say this . . . depending on the temperature and chemical reaction of fire, you can see a multitude of colors in an "Inferno" . . . Most notably in order of increasing heat, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

I wasn't just NASL'ing, I mean everywhere. Most common uniform colors are royal blue, red, navy/red, navy, white... then I think its blue/yellow, and then greens.

One issue with purple - I think the only other team wearing purple in the top 3 divisions is ORLANDO!

Maroon could be very cool. Works well with Navy as a secondary color. Doesn't look great when its an all maroon kit, maroon, white, white looks better.

By the way, here is the old (maybe current) flag of Jacksonville.....I could see this working with the inferno theme. Might be JUST a bit too much though :)[IMG]

lol, I'll agree with the thoughs of panicfc here and say they are not necessarily the most aesthetically pleasing of colors, but if that's the city flag and the colors the owners went with, I'd roll with it . . .and of course support!

I'm easily swayed......all I ask is no teal, no local college colors, we want to be united not divided

I still like purple/maroon. I will have to scout uniforms out this weekend
