Ross County 2 United XI 2

A young Manchester United XI had to come from behind twice on Saturday to secure a share of the spoils away to Scottish Premier League side Ross County.
Davide Petrucci and Ryan Tunnicliffe scored in each half as the Reds cancelled out goals from County's Kevin Luckassen and Alex Cooper in front of 4,400 fans at the Global Energy Stadium, formerly known as Victoria Park.
The most northerly team in the Scottish Premier League, County adapted quickest to the unusually hot conditions, taking the lead through Luckassen's driven shot after just five minutes. Bebe came close to a rapid response for United, however, when he cut inside and unleashed a shot that smashed against the underside of the crossbar.
The Reds were therefore to made a wait a further 20 minutes or so before getting back on level terms, Petrucci powering a free-kick past County keeper Mark Brown from 25 yards out.
The Italian goalscorer was instrumental when United approved as an attacking force in the second period, although it was the hosts who again edged in front when substitute Cooper swivelled inside the area to beat Sam Johnstone in the 57th minute.
Seven minutes later, the Reds equalised for the second time when Tunnicliffe combined well with Federico Macheda before converting a close-range opportunity.
That proved to be the end of the scoring, partly because Johnstone was on his toes to prevent Dutch forward Luckassen and also Switzerland-born full-back Mihael Kovacevic snatching a late winner for the Staggies.

Honours were therefore even after an entertaining contest, in which the young Reds looked sharp and County gained momentum ahead of their league season opener away to Scottish champions Celtic in a fortnight's time.

United: Sam Johnstone; Marnick Vermijl, Tom Thorpe, Scott Wootton, Charni Ekangamene (Tom Lawrence, 35); Larnell Cole, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Ben Pearson, Davide Petrucci, Bebe (Liam Grimshaw, 60); Federico Macheda (James Wilson, 82). Subs not used: Joel Pereira, Jack Barmby, Andreas Pereira.

Petrucci best player again according to those at the game.

    The squad
Joel Castro Pereira, Kieran O'Hara, Axel Tuanzebe, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Scott McTominay, Jordan Thompson, Joe Riley, Matthew Willock, Demetri Mitchell, Ruari Croskery, Callum Nicholas, Oliver Rathbone, Marcus Rashford, Charlie Scott, Andreas Pereira, Vashiko Dick, Oliver McBurnie.

    Milk Cup squad.

Pereira obviously should be the standout.

Other than that Demetri Mitchell and Rashford are supposed to be pretty talented.

Is this televised anywhere? I would love a stream but I'm guessing it's not.

    From Rio -

    WILFRIED ZAHA
Wilfried is a great new signing. He’s a nice kid from Croydon who’s fitted in well with the team. He’s young, eager to please and wants to do well. He’s raw, but he has an unbelievable range of skills. I can see potential in him being a really top player if he knits it all together, works hard on the training field and learns from the senior players at the club. If he does that and listens to the coaches then he’ll have a great career.

    ADNAN JANUZAJ
A naturally gifted footballer, Adnan is a smooth, silky player with great technique. He looks languid in the way he plays, but he’s a determined lad. He’s tall and will have a good physique when he grows into his frame. He’s got a beautiful left foot and we’re now starting to see a different side to him, where he’s working hard and adding bits to his game. I’ve seen a difference in him with his application pre-season and if he continues to do that and has a desire to work hard, be part of the manager’s plans, then he’s got a really good chance of being a good player.

    MICHAEL KEANE
Michael Keane is a good young centre half who has a bright future.
He has a good stature, physique and the right work ethic. He needs to get a bit stronger, that will come with age. He went on loan to Leicester last season and did well. He’s composed, comfortable on the ball and likes to pass it. He reads the game quite well too.

    ALEXANDER BUTTNER
He grew up as a left winger so he’s really skilful on the ball. He’s got good feet, so he’ll score you a goal. He was feeling his way into the squad last season, but he’s come back with more personality this year. He’s got a bit of spunk about him. The only problem he’s got is that he’s got Pat (Evra) in front of him and he plays every game. It will be difficult for him to get minutes.

    JESSE LINGARD
    (Rio’s one to watch)
If I was going to hang my hat on a young player being a Man United player then Jesse would be the one. He’s got everything. For me Jesse could be a top, top player. He’s not one of the first young players who you look at for flashy pieces of skill, but his understanding of the game, of where to run, where to take the ball and his desire and application in training… he looks like a Manchester United player to me.
