One example I guess would be Chicharito................... There are probably some other examples we can think of. Usually premier league clubs bring in players like Demba Ba or Papiss Cissé or Michu as bargains from the other big Euro leagues.
Probably along those lines. Just as they all pronounce Jose with a J instead of the H. Silly Brits. Even us cornfed hicks know how to pronounce Hose-A.
Nah, he played for my team in Bolivia years ago. Boy was that a mistake . I remember him being called Josimar with a soft g sound. Of course, as South Americans, we know that the Brazilians use that sound for the J. I would figure that the Spanish would also know that. I would love to know how the English pronounce Mourinho's first name. It should NOT be like the Spanish Jose.
I asked a mexican friend of mine, and he said they were doing it wrong. So....There is my evidence. Either way I'm sure it's not supposed to be a full blown honkey ass J as in Joe. It sounds like JOE-Ze if you've never heard. Jou-Se....certainly. I could take that with a side of fine pinot and wonderful spanish ham
Some variant of Jozy in Sunderland or Altidore in Sunderland, perhaps? Off with their heads! Jozy in Sunderland

Thank god for AZ. Now makes me wonder what might have been? What if he didn't sign for AZ? What if he went for a club that payed him similar to what Villarreal had him on? what if he never left Villarreal? Would he be the main striker when Rossi got injured? Maybe scary to think. If he wasn't getting PT with whatever club, JK might have took a page out of Del Bosque's book and played with a false 9.
09-10 season. After the Confed Cup when he was scoring a bunch in qualifying and arrived at Hull. Lot of expectations to perform and prepare for the WC
What's undoubtedly true is that Jozy has a good feel for the premier league already having spent that season at Hull. When Jozy was at Hull, the expectations there for him from the fans were completely out of whack. He was 19 at the time, with very little experience at that level (after not getting much PT at Villarreal). The midfield stank once Bullard went down, and none of their forwards were scoring. Then the Hull fans would come on this board and tell us how terrible he was playing. Well yeah? Were they expecting Didier Drogba?
